In US Theaters TEN Years Ago Today: Pride & Prejudice (2005) turns 10!

Our P&P (2005) movie's 10th Year Anniversary event here continues on its US anniversary day today...

PRIDE & PREJUDICE (2005) Movie!

A decade ago today (November 11, 2005), the 6-time BAFTA (including a WIN for director Joe Wright, which he won the Carl Foreman Award for the Most Promising Newcomer and a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Brenda Blethyn), 2-time Golden Globes (including Best Actress nomination for Keira Knightley), and 4-time Oscar nominated film (including Best Actress in a Leading Role nomination for Keira Knightley) Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen opened in U.S. theaters, November 11th, with a limited release and made $2,865,017 (USA) on its opening weekend (#10 rank, 215 theaters, $13, 325 average). Then, it expanded to a nationwide US theatrical release later on at the same month (November 23rd) with an impressive $7,158,119 (#7, rank, 1, 299 theaters, $5,510 average), according to Box Office Mojo. Its production budget was reportedly $28 million (estimated).


To commemorate today of its 10th year anniversary (UK's September release) of this amazing film here at the P&P Blog, I have been celebrating and posting a lot of P&P related things all this month to look back on this awesome and brilliant film and its continued successes, 10 years later. Well, color me surprised (much like her P&P co-star Rupert Friend’s birthday confusion...) as I’ve been celebrating her birthday on this day for years, lol. I blame her IMDB and Wiki pages for not providing her real birthdate, if her actual birthday is, in fact not today! Although there’s that one time it was listed on the 28th, but for years and even now it’s still listed as the 27th! Which is correct?  Unless, Miss Pike can clarify and correct that..for now, I’ll continue to celebrate her internet birthday today! Still,

Top 10 Favorite Pride & Prejudice Movie Quotes

Our P&P (2005) movie's 10th Year Anniversary event here continues... One of the many things I love about Pride & Prejudice ( 2005 ) movie is the memorable and quotable quotes (and dialogue ). I know pretty much every line/quote uttered by various characters in this movie by heart. There isn't just one to remember because there are so many unforgettable quotes and one-liners from this movie. For my Top 10 Favorite Pride & Prejudice Movie Quotes here, it was very hard to pick and just narrow it down to 10, but that's the point of making a top 10 list. I know I left out a lot, but I managed to pick 10 that I can quote instantly and love the most. Obviously, the top 2 are a fan favorite, but mine too. P&P Movie Script

I was looking through old threads over at IMDB a while back and I found a link to the P&P 2005 movie script ... from an awesome JA/P&P fanfiction related site called, Mrs. Darcy's Story Site . I've read the entire script from this site. It seemed accurate with deleted scenes included! (though there were spelling errors on some of the lines...just a lil' typo here and there)... Btw, the webmistress at Mrs. Darcy's site has added her comments to the script comparing this draft with what was actually released on film , which I thought was quite interesting (especially the deleted scenes from the movie ). It was a lot of fun to read. I thought I would keep the link and post it here (a lil' excerpt here) for those of you might be interested in reading this or have been looking for the P&P movie script/transcript online.
