Last October (12th) 2016, UK fans got to see the fifth and final season premiere of Ripper Street   starring  Matthew Macfadyen  (as  Detective Inspector Edmund Reid ) on Amazon Prime Video . Early next month, the North American fans of RS will finally get to bid farewell and see the fifth and final season of the series on BBC America! Today, BBC America announced the fifth and final season of the TV series will debut in March. The fifth and final season of  Ripper Street premieres on  March 8th   at 11 p.m. ET/PT . Two more seasons for Ripper Street!! Wohooo!!! What a great news (as I'm a big RS fan and have been watching this series and live-tweeting on twitter almost every episode since Season 1, this is exciting news) to wake up to this morning! Even better, not one, but two more seasons and this news comes on Episode ( 3 ) day of the third season of BBC America 's  crime mini-series   Ripper Street   starring  Matthew Macfadyen , Jerome Flynn , and Adam Rothenberg ! According to Radio Times, RS has been awarded two more seasons by UK's on-demand online streaming site Amazon Instant Video . Hopefully, Matthew (he seems " delighted " on his statement, which you can read below of his show's two more seasons renewal news) and his co-stars since S1 returns for the upcoming two Seasons. Season 5 of ITV 's hit detective drama Vera  starring  Brenda Blethyn  as DCI Vera Stanhope ( Vera S5 still via ITV) just aired its Season 5 finale last night. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Season 5. I haven't been following the series as I haven't seen it in a while nor seen Seasons 3 and 4 as it's not showing here in the US (Wish PBS was showing it on Masterpiece Mystery...). I've seen the first two seasons on Netflix a long time ago, and that's about all. The series seemed to have disappeared on Netflix. It's not listed there anymore. Loved and enjoyed watching Brenda Blethyn on those first two season of Vera though. Season 5 premiered in U.K. TVs ITV channel last Sunday April 5th . Seasons one through three are currently available on Hulu.com . All four seasons are available on Amazon.com Instant and Acorn TV .
