I just saw the 2026 Oscar nominated  short film Jane Austen's Period Drama   and at first, I thought it was a new Austen adaptation, but it was a satire and literally was about a ''period drama" of a character in a period drama having a period, which was bloody hilarious and genius, actually. The end credits cleverly mentioned 2x Academy Award Winner Emma Thompson as Executive Menstrual Advisor , hahaha!!! :-D Jane Austen's Period Drama is a 2024 English-language short comedy film written and directed by Julia Aks (who also star as Miss Estrogenia Talbot) and Steve Pinder. The film is a satire on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The film had its world premiere at the 39th Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 9, 2024 . It's currently showing in hundreds of theaters across North America (now until March 15, 2026)! Red Nose Day Actually (a 10-minute short film sequel to Love Actually , the 2003 romantic-comedy movie), in which Keira Knightley   with some of her original LA co-stars reunited for the mini-sequel was aired in the UK last Friday BBC One.  LVentertainment  on Instagram  uploaded clips of the short film including Keira 's brief part (about 2 minutes long) . You can watch the rest of the short film in Instagram video clips (for now, as there's no YouTube video for this yet...will update and include here as soon as it's available in full) from other Love Actually characters here . A teaser trailer has been released for Red Nose Day Actually (a 10-minute short film sequel to Love Actually , the 2003 romantic-comedy movie), in which Keira Knightley   with co-starred. She wasn't included on the teaser trailer, but her co-star Andrew Lincoln was with his cue cards promoting the upcoming Red Nose Day event, which will be next week (on Friday)! While Keira 's not featured on the teaser trailer, however, she has a new behind the scene photo (see above ^ via UK's Mirror and BTS photo by Comic Relief Ltd) with writer and director Richard Curtis . The short film, Red Nose Day Actually , is being made in support of Comic Relief ’s Red Nose Day fundraiser, airs March 24 on BBC One . It also will be broadcast as part of NBC’s Red Nose Day Special on May 25 . As previously posted here last week, a mini (10 minutes long) sequel for Love Actually (2003 romantic-comedy) movie, which Keira Knightley was one of the returning cast announced and confirmed to be returning for the upcoming short film especially made for the Red Nose Day Special in March 24th (UK) and May 25th (USA). Today, LA script editor Emma Freud tweeted a Red Nose Day Actually contest for you to get a chance to visit the last day of filming in March 7th , the short film sequel to LA. You could be watching as cameras roll for a scene between Keira and Andrew and you get to meet and take photos with them too and more! How you could win these awesome contest prize pack? I just noticed that one of this year's  Oscar Nominated short films (Live Action), The Voorman Problem stars  Tom Hollander   and Martin Freeman (PBS' Sherlock ). In the 13 minute short ,  Tom plays a man, Mr. Voorman , who believes he's God . Interesting. Watch the trailer and clip (via USA Today) below. See The Voorman Problem stills here . Last Monday, I posted the preview trailer for Keira Knightley 's Chanel short film Once Upon A Time... directed by fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld . Keira Knightley stars as Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel . Today, the full 18 minutes and 9 seconds short film premiered via Chanel News at the same time as its premiere in Singapore , the destination chosen by Karl Lagerfeld for his upcoming Cruise fashion show . I've been wanting to see Rupert Friend 's short film   Steve starring Colin Firth , Keira Knightley , and Tom Mison . As I was browsing youtube, I was in luck as I found that someone uploaded the full short film in 2 parts . Awesome! This short film was interesting, bizarre, funny, and wonderfully acted by all 3 Austen/P&P actors Colin Firth (who was great here in the title role Steve , a creepy and needy neighbor), Keira (as the woman , interesting accent...sounds like either Scottish or Irish...my guess would be the former), and Tom Mison (as the man , companion to Keira 's character) , and pretty good writing and direction by Rupert Friend (on his directorial debut ). Today ( October 1st ) is the 31st birthday of Rupert Friend (aka P&P 05 's own Mr. Wickham ). Rupert Friend was born October 1st, 1981 in Oxfordshire, England, UK. Rupert wrote , co-produced , and directed the short film Steve starring Colin Firth , Keira Knightley , and Tom Mison . In theaters now! Two short films (starring Pride & Prejudice actors) opening in theaters through Stars in Shorts later this month, starting on September 28th ! Judi Dench is a neophyte in the complicated landscape of internet dating in “ Friend Request Pending .” Colin Firth is an unusually needy neighbor to Keira Knightley and Tom Mison in “ Steve ” (directed by Rupert Friend ). The STARS IN SHORTS release will open in theaters throughout the US and Canada beginning September 28th and will continue to expand in the following weeks . Rupert Friend just promoted the short film he directed titled Steve ( see trailer here! ) starring Colin Firth (in the title role) , Keira Knightley , and Tom Mison on Rhode Island 's local news ABC6 last night as it was screened in Rhode Island International Film Festival (one of the many festivals it screened/premiered to since last year).
