The final season of ITV’s Vera series starring  Brenda Blethyn   (in the title role as Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope ) premieres in the coming New Year’s Day, January 1st, 2025  with 2 part episodes on ITV! The last season will be its final 14th (season) for the hit crime detective series.

ITV has released a new  Text Santa  -  Downton Abbey   sneak peek sketch video featuring  Penelope Wilton 's Isobel Crawley with Hugh Bonneville 's Lord Grantham searching for the right Father Christmas (aka Santa Claus) with  Brenda Blethyn ' s Vera showing up for the audition and Brendan Coyle 's Mr. Bates popping up out of nowhere, lol...The P&P fan in me can't help thinking this was another awesome P&P/DA connection , Mrs. Bennet (P&P 2005) reunited with her sister-in-law Mrs. Gardiner ( P&P 2005 ) who was sitting next to a different Mr. Bennet ( Lost In Austen 's own Mr. B !). I'd love for Keira & Matthew to make a cameo as Elizabeth & Darcy as a P&P 10th Anniversary reunion special or homage for the P&P movie fans. If only this idea is possible... Season 5 of ITV 's hit detective drama Vera  starring  Brenda Blethyn  as DCI Vera Stanhope ( Vera S5 still via ITV) just aired its Season 5 finale last night. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Season 5. I haven't been following the series as I haven't seen it in a while nor seen Seasons 3 and 4 as it's not showing here in the US (Wish PBS was showing it on Masterpiece Mystery...). I've seen the first two seasons on Netflix a long time ago, and that's about all. The series seemed to have disappeared on Netflix. It's not listed there anymore. Loved and enjoyed watching Brenda Blethyn on those first two season of Vera though. Season 5 premiered in U.K. TVs ITV channel last Sunday April 5th . Seasons one through three are currently available on Hulu.com . All four seasons are available on Amazon.com Instant and Acorn TV . ITV 's  detective drama series   Vera   starring  Brenda Blethyn  as  DCI Vera Stanhope  and  David Leon  as  DS Joe Ashworth  returns to UK's ITV for its season 4 , which will premiere later this month, on Sunday April 27th at 8PM ( ITV Press Centre confirmed on twitter and website with attached preview trailer below). The main and supporting cast of the 2005 film, Pride & Prejudice are quite a versatile and multi-talented bunch. They're everywhere on the big or small screen, be it on feature films, short films, webseries, stage plays, or on TV. I love that they don't do just feature films, but also do small independent films as well as lots of made for TV movies, TV series (even a scripted Wigs series via YouTube), and TV miniseries. I love seeing my favorite P&P actors doing (or rather appearing on) various things on screen, be it on the big screen or small screen. A TV series or miniseries on the small screen is even more awesome as you get to see them on a regular bases and we don't have a long time to wait to see them again on screen as films on the big screen often do. The downside, of course, is being cancelled, but there's always another new exciting and different project for them to do, if a previous pilot or project didn't work out. It's great to ...

According to Variety , 2-time Academy Award Nominee  Brenda Blethyn and two-time Academy Award Winner Hillary Swank are co-starring in a new HBO telepic Mary and Martha . Oh, and get this, the trio of Working Title Films ' Tim Bevan , Eric Fellner , and Liza Chasin, the executive producers of Joe Wright 's Pride & Prejudice , Atonement , and the upcoming Anna Karenina films (as well Love Actually with its writer/director Richard Curtis ) are producing this alongside the director of Salt ! This should be awesome with those great talents behind the scenes and in front of the camera along with two of the best actresses in Hollywood.
