Today  ( March 26th ) is the  two-time   Academy Award ®  Nominee  (for  Best Actress performance  of her   iconic role,  Elizabeth Bennet  in the  2005 's  Pride & Prejudice   film and  Best Supporting Actress  as  Joan Clarke  for  2014 's  The Imitation Game )  Keira Knightley 's  36th Birthday!

The 2021 Oscar Nominations were announced this morning and Carey Mulligan and her Emerald Fennell-directed revenge thriller  Promising Young Woman scored five Oscar nominations including a Best Actress in a Leading Role for Carey! Congrats to her and the cast and crew of her MPYW film!! Most Promising Young Woman was also nominated for 6 BAFTA awards, but Carey was snubbed for the Best Actress category. Carey, is at least not snubbed by the Academy as she now earned her second Oscar nomination (with An Education being her first one!) and she was also nominated for Best Actress in SAG (this will be held on April 4th) and Golden Globe (she lost this one though) Awards. Deadline just reported that Netflix has struck a North American and Latin America deal to acquire the streaming rights too P&P Actors ( 2005 and 1995 's Mr. Darcy s) Matthew Macfadyen and Colin Firth 's new WWII Period Drama titled, Operation Mincemeat . Netflix has just released a teaser trailer announcing the premiere date for Joe Wright 's new film, a psychological thriller titled  The Woman in the Window starring 6-time Oscar Nominee Amy Adams (who co-starred with Jena Malone in films like Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice {The Ultimate Edition}  and Nocturnal Animals ) in the lead role as Dr. Anna Fox . The film was previously set for a May 15, 2020 U.S. Theater release, but with reshoots, delays, and Fox-Disney merger, the film ended up being acquired by Netflix. It is now set to premiere and available to stream on Netflix May 14th! Gary Oldman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, and Juliane Moore also star. Last night the 78th Golden Globe Awards was held virtually with three of Pride & Prejudice (2005) film actors nominated in three different categories: Rosamund Pike (in Molly Goddard dress) - Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy (for Netflix's I Care A Lot), Carey Mulligan (in Prada dress) - Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama (for Focus Features' Most Promising Young Woman), and Donald Sutherland - Best Performance by an Actor in Supporting Role for Television (for HBO's The Undoing). Out of the three Bennets (Jane, Kitty, and Mr. Bennet) nominated for a GG award, unfortunately, Carey Mulligan and Donald Sutherland lost...and only Rosamund Pike won!  It's her third nomination and she finally won! I guess third time's a charm. It's about time and her win here was very well-deserved as she was amazing in I Care A Lot movie! A big congratulations to Miss Pike for her first ever Golden Globe win!!!
