I've been wanting to see Rupert Friend 's short film   Steve starring Colin Firth , Keira Knightley , and Tom Mison . As I was browsing youtube, I was in luck as I found that someone uploaded the full short film in 2 parts . Awesome! This short film was interesting, bizarre, funny, and wonderfully acted by all 3 Austen/P&P actors Colin Firth (who was great here in the title role Steve , a creepy and needy neighbor), Keira (as the woman , interesting accent...sounds like either Scottish or Irish...my guess would be the former), and Tom Mison (as the man , companion to Keira 's character) , and pretty good writing and direction by Rupert Friend (on his directorial debut ). Today ( October 1st ) is the 31st birthday of Rupert Friend (aka P&P 05 's own Mr. Wickham ). Rupert Friend was born October 1st, 1981 in Oxfordshire, England, UK. Rupert wrote , co-produced , and directed the short film Steve starring Colin Firth , Keira Knightley , and Tom Mison . In theaters now! Also, he recently joined (as a regular) the 6-time Emmy Award winning drama series Homeland (Season 2) , which just premiered last night at 10 PM ET/PT on Showtime . Two short films (starring Pride & Prejudice actors) opening in theaters through Stars in Shorts this month, starting today ! Go see these short films, if these are available in your local theaters! Why see them? Well, if you're a P&P fan in general, you'll see and recognize a trio of P&P actors who played Lizzie Bennet ( P&P 2005 ), Bingley ( Lost In Austen 2008), and Darcy ( P&P 1995 ) crossover from 3 different P&P adaptations all in the same film being directed by the talented Wickham ( P&P 2005 ) in Steve. Two short films (starring Pride & Prejudice actors) opening in theaters through Stars in Shorts later this month, starting on September 28th ! Judi Dench is a neophyte in the complicated landscape of internet dating in “ Friend Request Pending .” Colin Firth is an unusually needy neighbor to Keira Knightley and Tom Mison in “ Steve ” (directed by Rupert Friend ). The STARS IN SHORTS release will open in theaters throughout the US and Canada beginning September 28th and will continue to expand in the following weeks . A list of participating theaters are available by clicking on the DATES & LOCATIONS . Together with the theatrical run, these great films films will be available on iTunes Stores in 54 countries across the globe and on Pay Per View beginning October 9th . Rupert Friend just promoted the short film he directed titled Steve ( see trailer here! ) starring Colin Firth (in the title role) , Keira Knightley , and Tom Mison on Rhode Island 's local news ABC6 last night as it was screened in Rhode Island International Film Festival (one of the many festivals it screened/premiered to since last year). As previously posted here , Colin Firth ( P&P '95 's Mr. Darcy ) did a short film titled, Steve directed by Rupert Friend ( P&P '05 's Mr. Wickham ), which was filmed in 4 days . Now, I've found out new info that Keira Knightley ( P&P '05 's Elizabeth Bennet ) and Tom Mison ( Lost In Austen 's Mr. Bingley ) is also in Steve . Very interesting! Check out the official site for Steve with P&P Actors in three different P&P versions ( 1995 , 2005 , and Lost in Austen 2008 ) are all in the same short film. Looks like we have Darcy 1995 , Lizzie 2005 , and Bingley ( LA 2008 ), being directed by Wickham 2005 ...brilliant casting (though where's Jane or Lydia Bennet ? lol) and director and keeping it in the P&P family, eh? Looks like Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle , better known to Jane Austen/P&P fans as Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet from the 1995 BBC miniseries, Pride and Prejudice are reuniting in a new film , The King's Speech , slated to be released in theaters on November 26th , later this year. Not too mention Colin Firth is working yet again with another P&P 05 actor ...this time it's Rupert Friend ( P&P 05 's Mr. Wickham )...so it's more like Darcy and Wickham working together again in the same movie.   Interesting...it seems Colin Firth is always working with other Pride and Prejudice/Jane Austen alumni actors esp. P&P 05 actors (see Six Degrees of Colin Firth ...scroll down to the bottom of the page for it!)... Awesome! He has previously co-starred with Rupert in The Last Legion (see Colin and Rupert Legion still above...also, with another Lizzy....
