Is Season 6 Rupert Friend 's final season as agent Peter Quinn in Showtime's Homeland ? Yes, sadly, it (most likely ) was! If you have seen the season 6 finale episode 12 - America First of Homeland last Sunday ( April 9th ), then, you've seen the tragic fate of Rupert 's beloved and fan favorite character, Peter Quinn . Showtime has released a spoiler finale tribute to Rupert 's character (which you can watch at your own risk below) and RF had various S6 finale ( spoiler-filled ) interviews (read them, again, at your own risk in the links I've provided below). Rupert joined the series back in Season 2 ( Episode 4 ) playing agent Peter Quinn , which he scored an Emmy Award nomination  for Outstanding Guest Actor . The 10th - time Emmy Award and 5-time Golden Globe winning drama series Homeland starring Claire Danes , Mandy Patinkin , and Rupert Friend , which currently in its Season 5 (and premiered last October 4th on Showtime ) has been renewed today by Showtime for Season 6 according to Deadline Hollywood . The final Season 6 of Downton Abbey   ( Penelope Wilton co-star as Isobel Crawley ) recently premiered in the UK in ITV channel last September 20th . I haven't posted here much about Season 6 (other the Season 6 cast photo and UK/US trailers ) as it's not airing in the U.S. on PBS Masterpiece until January 2016 . I don't want to spoil the final season 6 for my fellow American fans and myself...so in the meantime, I'll try to stay spoiler-free here. The UK's ITV just released the Season 6 trailer for Downton Abbey   ( Penelope Wilton co-star as Isobel Crawley ) and also announced the final Series 6 premiere for September 20th . Carnival Films and ITV launched the final Season 6 of Downton Abbey   ( Penelope Wilton co-star as Isobel Crawley ) yesterday with a press launch in London, where journalists were treated to an exclusive screening of the first episode , followed by a series of Q&A ’s with Executive Producers Gareth Neame , Julian Fellowes and Liz Trubridge , along with cast members including Maggie Smith , Hugh Bonneville and Joanne Froggatt . Season 5 of ITV 's hit detective drama Vera  starring  Brenda Blethyn  as DCI Vera Stanhope ( Vera S5 still via ITV) just aired its Season 5 finale last night. Unfortunately, I haven't seen Season 5. I haven't been following the series as I haven't seen it in a while nor seen Seasons 3 and 4 as it's not showing here in the US (Wish PBS was showing it on Masterpiece Mystery...). I've seen the first two seasons on Netflix a long time ago, and that's about all. The series seemed to have disappeared on Netflix. It's not listed there anymore. Loved and enjoyed watching Brenda Blethyn on those first two season of Vera though. Season 5 premiered in U.K. TVs ITV channel last Sunday April 5th . Seasons one through three are currently available on Hulu.com . All four seasons are available on Amazon.com Instant and Acorn TV . Looks like Season 6 (or Series 6 as the Brits call it) is a go on ITV for Vera . So fans of this series will have another sea...

As I've previously posted 5 days ago on P&P NewsBits here , Downton Abbey   ( Penelope Wilton   co-star as   Isobel Crawley ) is now officially ending its series after Season 6 . According to Deadline ,  NBCUniversal-owned Carnival Films, the producer of Downton Abbey , today announced that Season 6 will be the final season of the worldwide hit TV drama. The news isn’t entirely surprising, given that last January NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt told TV critics  Julian Fellowes long awaited NBC period drama The Gilded Age had been put on the front burner – disturbing news for Downton fans, given that he writes every episode of the PBS hit.

Season 5 for Downton Abbey  ( Penelope Wilton  co-star as  Isobel Crawley ) in the UK is almost over with its finale airing this Sunday (plus a special Christmas Episode with guest star George Clooney ), while in the US, we still have a long two months wait to go before it premieres in January 4th, 2015 on PBS Masterpiece.
