Happy Birthday Joe Wright!

Today (August 25th), is Pride & Prejudice's own brilliant director Joe Wright's 40th Birthday! Just found out it's his birthday today and he shares the same birthday as Tom Hollander! Interesting...and they've worked together 3 times in 3 (Pride & Prejudice, The Soloist, and Hanna) of his 5 feature films.
Joe Wright (born 25 August 1972) is an English film director best known for Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, Hanna, and Anna Karenina.

Wright was born on 25 August 1972 in London, where his parents founded the Little Angel Theatre, a puppet theatre in Islington.

Wright always had an interest in the arts, especially painting.[1] He would also make films on his Super 8 camera as well as spend time in the evenings acting in a drama club. Wright is dyslexic. He left school without any GCSEs.

Joe Wright is married to SitaristAnoushka Shankar, daughter of Ravi Shankar, and they have a son named Zubin.

Watch: Anna Karenina's 2nd UK TV spot; plus preview summary, soundtrack release date and track listing info

Joe Wright's Anna Karenina (starring former Pride & Prejudice stars Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen) opens in UK Cinemas in 15 days (September 7th) from now. Lucky UK residents get to see this movie first (much like P&P and Atonement), while those of us who live in the US, we'll have to wait a lil' more than two months later (November 16th) and probably longer as the first weekend of its US theatrical release will only be in select cities (NY and LA), before it expands to more theaters later in November, which means I probably won't get to see this movie until late November to early December. *sigh*

Two new clips for Downton Abbey's Season 3 has been released as the new season 3 premiere approaches in the UK (lucky UK fans get to see the new season first!) on ITV. The first clip with the mother-in-laws Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham (mother of Lord Grantham), played by Maggie Smith and Martha Levinson, Lady Grantham’s American mother played by Shirley Maclaine looks hilarious. Can't wait to see S3 already! Too bad PBS Masterpiece here in the US is not airing it at the same time as the UK's ITV channel, which is airing it next month (though oddly, there's still no actual date and this month's about to be over!) Like the previous 2 seasons, we'll have to wait for Season 3 to air in January 2013!

Film Reviews: 'Seeking A Friend' in 'Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'

I saw these two films recently, Seeking A Friend For The End of The World starring Keira Knightley and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotelstarring Judi Dench and . Both films with long titles (could've been combined together and would've made a good and interesting combo one title of a movie: Seeking A Friend In The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel or Seeking A Friend in Marigold Hotel...with all 3 lovely ladies: Keira Knightley, Dame Judi Dench, and Penelope Wilton starring on it, lol), both had comedy in their films, and starring 3 very familiar P&P actors. But these two films are completely different and appeal to different audiences. One, I enjoyed watching and the other was so and so...

Movie Casting News: Keira Knightley to star in 'Jack Ryan' Reboot with Chris Pine and Kenneth Branagh!

First of all, let me just say that I love all the Jack Ryan series of films that starred Harrison Ford (Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger), Alec Baldwin (The Hunt for Red October), and Ben Affleck (The Sum of All Fears) in that order and hearing the news that they're doing a reboot (like Hollywood has been doing a lot lately)..I thought what? another one when are they gonna come up with something new and original? lol...'cause those previous films for JR were already great. But then, again, if they can come up with something good for the reboot or prequel to update a previous successful franchise/series of films I already loved and enjoyed. I really don't for instance, the recently released the X-Men: First Class film and the Batman trilogy. Now, those were very well done. Also, if they have a great cast and story...I most definitely welcome a remake, prequel, or reboot of any films already done in the past as long as they are made really, really, rea…

A Royal Connection: Judi Dench as Lady Catherine, Rupert Friend as HRH Prince Albert, Keira Knightley as Duchess Georgiana, and other P&P actors in royal and noble characters (The Royal Edition)

The following Pride & Prejudice(2005) Actors: Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen,Judi Dench, Tom Hollander, Rosamund Pike, andRupert Friendall have played various roles/characters in their long list of TV and film work (as well as stage plays) combine, but the most interesting and fascinating characters they had played (not once, but twice or a few times) and probably loved and enjoyed playing were the historical figures (whether they are fiction or real) with royal titles or Royal, noble and chivalric ranks. I noticed (and have seen some of) these talented P&P actors starred/co-starred in made for TV Movies and feature films playing roles with either royalty or hierarchy titles.
