Movie Casting News: Rosamund Pike cast in Edgar Wright's 'The World's End' film

According to The Daily Mail, Rosamund Pike has joined the cast of Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Shaun of the Dead)'s The World's End film. There are no details on who she’ll play, but we’ll find out new details on her role soon enough. The sci-fi comedy The World’s End will start filming this September with Simon Pegg (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) and Nick Frost (Snow White and the Huntsman) returning to close out the “Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy” (the first two installments are Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz). The World’s End is due out spring 2013.

Here's the synopsis for The World's End
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World's End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching The World's End is the least of their worries.
Rosamund, who was last seen in last March's Wrath of the Titans, will next be seen in the action-thriller Jack Reacher, which opens December 21st.
