I recently finished watching (in less than a day), Netflix 's new original miniseries  The Crown (The early reign of Queen Elizabeth II of England is portrayed) starring Claire Foy  ( Little Dorrit ) and Matt Smith ( Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ). It premiered earlier this month, November 4th with ten episodes. Having not read any news (other than it was going to be on Netflix and I didn't know who the actors were going to be in the main cast either) or spoilers about this miniseries. I thought it would be done after 10 episodes , but it looks like, this was just season one and season two is coming soon. When? I don't know, but I sure can't wait! I got hooked watching this miniseries, since I love watching period dramas and especially with the royals or monarchies (ie. The Young Victoria , The Other Boleyn Girl , The Duchess , etc.). I thought this was a very good and a must-watch miniseries (I was fascinated by it, whether it was accurate or not about Queen ...

Matthew Macfadyen ( Little Dorrit ) was in attendance (along with Eddie Redmayne , Rowan Atkinson , Gillian Anderson and Helena Bonham Carter to name a few actors associated with a Dickens adaptations) at Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip , the Duke of Edinburgh hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens , February 14th, 2012 . Unfortunately, no photos of MM taken from the event, but fortunately, there's a video from the Queen's TheRoyalChannel (on Youtube) about the Reception celebrating the bicentenary of the birth of Charles Dickens . Why celebrate Dickens bicentennial birthday here on this P&P Blog ? Well, why ever not, four of our favorite P&P (2005) actors : Keira Knightley ( Oliver Twist 1999), Matthew Macfadyen ( Little Dorrit 2008), Carey Mulligan ( Bleak House 2005), and Tamzin Merchant (the upcoming The Mystery of Edwin Drood 2012) all had done Dickens based adaptations on television, that's why! The Producers Guild of America ( PGA ) announced Tuesday (Jan. 5th) the ten nominations for the Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures category that will advance in the voting process for the 21st Annual PGA Awards, which will take place on Sunday, January 24th at the Hollywood Palladium . Little Dorrit gets more accolades as it won 3 more Emmys (they previously won their first four Creative Arts Emmy Awards last Sept. 12th ) at Sunday night's telecast of the 61st Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards scoring a total of 7 Emmy wins! Here's a an interview they did for MM : Matthew Macfadyen plays Arthur Clennam , the mysterious figure whose return from overseas to fulfil his dying father's last wish completely transforms the lives of the Dorrits.
