In Celebration: Charles Dickens' 200th Birthday!

Why celebrate Dickens bicentennial birthday here on this P&P Blog? Well, why ever not, four of our favorite P&P (2005) actors: Keira Knightley (Oliver Twist 1999), Matthew Macfadyen (Little Dorrit 2008), Carey Mulligan (Bleak House 2005), and (the upcoming The Mystery of Edwin Drood 2012) all had done Dickens based adaptations on television, that's why!

First of all, Charles Dickens was born on this day, February 7, 1812. Born
Charles John Huffam Dickens (7 February 1812 – 9 June 1870) was an English novelist, generally considered the greatest of the Victorian period. Dickens enjoyed a wider popularity and fame than had any previous author during his lifetime, and he remains popular, having been responsible for some of English literature's most iconic novels and characters.
