Interview with Teri Wilson, author of Unleashing Mr. Darcy

Image
More than two years ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing Teri Wilson , author of Unleashing Mr. Darcy , a modern Pride and Prejudice retelling and contemporary romance, turned into an original Hallmark movie of the same name. You can read my first Q&A with Teri Wilson here . Now, two and half years later with the sequel Marrying Mr. Darcy (starring  Ryan Paevey  as  Donovan Darcy ,  Cindy Busby  as  Elizabeth Scott , and   Frances Fisher  as  Violet Darcy ) premiering tomorrow night (at 9/8c on Hallmark Channel ), I had another pleasure of doing a follow up interview with the always wonderful and fun to talk to, the one and only Teri Wilson about the success of Unleashing Mr. Darcy movie, the sequel where she did another set visit (and cameo) and why there's no book version of Marrying Mr. Darcy , reuniting with the main cast of MMD , plus a new Darcy book title and announcement (you read it here first!), and more! Thanks ...

Q&A with Teri Wilson, author of Unleashing Mr. Darcy

Image
After recently getting my audiobook copy (which I loved and enjoyed listening to) and seeing the movie (read my Unleashing Mr. Darcy Movie Review ) last Saturday, I had this idea and thought I'd do something different here, which is do a post-movie Q&A with Teri Wilson , author of Unleashing Mr. Darcy , a modern Pride and Prejudice retelling and contemporary romance, turned into an original Hallmark movie of the same name. I loved both her book and movie and I had so many questions I wanted to ask her about them. Though, at first, I wasn't sure if she'll agree to let me do an interview with her (since the movie already premiered last week). Fortunately, I'm in contact with Teri on Twitter and when I asked her about this, she immediately agreed and was happy to answer all my questions (even though I asked too many and she didn't have to, but she didn't mind at all). A big THANK YOU to Teri for taking the time to do this and talking about her book, mov...

Q&A with Laurel Ann Nattress

Image
Pride & Prejudice Blog's Q&A with Laurel Ann Nattress Jeane: How and when did you become a Jane Austen fan? Laurel Ann: Hi Jeane , I am very happy to be here today at Pride and Prejudice 2005 blog on my  Grand Tour of the blogosphere to celebrate the release of Jane Austen Made Me Do It . I love talking about my favorite author Jane Austen and my new short story anthology. I was first introduced to Jane Austen as a pre-teen by my mother Carolyn. We had watched the 1940 MGM Pride and Prejudice together. I liked it, but I was not really hooked until 1980 when I saw the Masterpiece Theatre mini-series of Pride and Prejudice on television. It was a seminal moment. I read the novel and all of Jane’s works shortly after and have been a fan ever since.

An Interview with Laurie Viera Rigler, author of Austen Addict novels

Image
I had the honor and pleasure of doing this fun interview with the lovely Laurie Viera Rigler (photo, artworks, and banners used her are courtesy of Laurie herself. Thanks! ), best-selling author of Jane Austen inspired novels , Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict and Rude Awakenings of a Jane Austen Addict (as well as the creator and writer of Sex and the Austen Girl , the web series inspired by her novels). I must confess, I'm not a Jane Austen addict (probably because I'm more of a P&P addict , lol), but I had a great time reading both of her delightful, fun, witty, and fabulous novels. I couldn't put them down when I read them recently. They were quite a page-turner and I loved and enjoy reading them. Not too mention, in her novels, Pride and Prejudice was the favorite book of the main characters/heroines Jane Mansfield and Courtney Stone . There were lots of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet mentions too as well as the 1995 BBC/A&E P&P mini...

Let's talk about the author!

Image
Darcy Saga Week marches on and today Jeane turned the focus onto yours truly. Hope you all find this interesting! Jeane: First of all, Congratulations!!! The launch of your first novel ( Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy: Two Shall Become One ), volume 1 from the Darcy Saga series was a big success back in March. How did it feel to be one of the many accomplished authors with your books published and on display in major bookstores nationwide and various online retailers? Sharon: I am finding that I use the word surreal a great deal these days! I don’t think I have ever used that word in relation to anything in my life before now, but it sure is apropos. I joke that the first time I saw it sitting on the shelf at Target I half-expected angelic heralding from above. LOL! It was a huge moment for me, but I ended up there alone with a camera that had a dead battery! Talk about ironic. And humbling! I am still such a total nerd about it. I take pictures and know I am smiling ridicu...

Let's talk about the best movie EVER!

Image
Something happened some four years ago that affected both Jeane and myself in a profound way: We watched a movie that touched us . Movies have a remarkable way of doing that, which is why the medium is so powerful a force. Jeane took it upon her shoulders to follow the various actors and the director, Joe Wright , who brought this wonderful story to life. I chose to write a sequel! Uniquely we have shown our love for this movie and Jane Austen, and along the way forged a friendship. Our purpose is the same, that is to keep the movie experience alive and to pay homage to all the people who created this story. Jeane has been astoundingly supportive of my novels. It is in the true Austen-spirit that she continues to kindly encourage me and respect my endeavors to give Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth the future they deserve. There is no way I could ever repay her generosity. And now she has graciously invited me to personally share my feelings and thoughts while highlighting the release ...

Winner of Sharon Lathan's novel!

Image
I am very sad to say that the original winner never contacted me. It has been 5 days and per my rules I need to pick someone else. I am very sorry Dava! I do hope you purchase the novel as I loved your enthusiasm. I would still love to hear from you! So, the names were again placed into the basket and picked at random. The new winner is Terry Spear! Terry happens to be a good friend and fellow Sourcebooks author who has been searching high and low for my book but always discovering the shelves empty. It is a pleasure to be able to send her a copy. Terry writes romantic shapeshifting wolf stories, if that sounds interesting to anyone. They are very good. Here is her webpage: Terry Spear Again thanks to everyone who participated. It was tremendous fun! ****** I am so excited to be able to announce the winner of a signed copy of Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy ~ Two Shall Become One . I had a marvelous time being interviewed by Jeane and then sharing my long-winded answers with all of yo...

An Interview with Sharon Lathan - Part 3

Image
Greetings everyone! I am back for the final portion of my interview with the 2005 P&P Blog owner, the lovely Jeane . My deepest thanks to Jeane for allowing me this opportunity to talk about my novel. Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy ~ Two Shall Become One is now released! Oh happy day!! It has been wonderful to reminisce about how I began this journey. Part 1 and Part 2 can be read by clicking the links. Now I am going to talk about me and my inspiration in more depth. Part 3 ~ Me a nd My Inspiration 1. What type of books do you like to read and which is your favorite? Until recently I have been firmly entrenched in the fantasy genre. Fantasy is far and away my favorite type of story and has been since I read The Hobbit when I was 12. I do read other types of books – sci-fi, classics, mystery, adventure, historical fiction – but rarely have I read pure romance. Recently I have rediscovered the joy of a good romantic story beyond my own. I am methodically working my w...

An Interview with Sharon Lathan - Part 2

Image
I am back again, at the gracious hospitality of Jeane , to talk more about my debut novel, Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy ~ Two Shall Become One . In Part 1 I revealed how the Darcy Saga originated. That portion can be read here: An Interview with Sharon Lathan - Part 1 Now let’s discuss the publishing ins and outs . Don’t forget to comment for the chance to win a signed copy of my novel! Part 2 ~ Publishing Journey 1. When you first wrote and posted your novels as a series of st ories on your website , did you ever think or imagine it would get so many devoted readers/fans/followers not too mention traffic on your old website and get them to be published? Absolutely not! I was pleased with the chapters/short-stories I had written. I would never have posted something that I did not believe was properly done and entertaining. I assumed that if I desired a happy-ever-after life for Lizzy and Darcy then surely there must be others who wished for the same. Even so, I was amazed by...

An Interview with Sharon Lathan - Part 1

Image
I am honored and thrilled to be given this opportunity to talk about my debut novel! Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy ~ Two Shall Become One is a romantic sequel detailing the initial honeymoon months of Darcy and Lizzy. This first in my Darcy Saga series is already available at Target, on Amazon and Barnes & Noble online, and occasionally even popping up on bookstore shelves despite not officially being released until March 1 ! Jeane – blog owner and friend – has been wonderfully supportive of my efforts for years now. I owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude. Of course, our shared love of Joe Wright ’s 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice bonded us instantly! Nevertheless, mutual admiration did not immediately mean she would love my sequel, yet thankfully she does. Nor is publicizing my book or freely giving me leave to hijack her website for 3 whole days required, yet she has! I can never fully repay, but will do my best by answering her questions honestly and with h...
