I found out several years ago that his birthday's today and  he shares the same birthday  as  Tom Hollander ! They've worked together  3 times  in  3  ( Pride & Prejudice ,  The Soloist , and  Hanna ) of his  5 feature films .

JW's upcoming new film The Woman In The Window starring Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, and Gary Oldman is currently in production (and probably had already started filming) in NYC!

2017 is the 15th anniversary of indie studio Focus Features (who distributed our favorite Pride & Prejudice 2005 movie). To celebrate its 15 years , the studio is putting together “ The Focus 15 Screening Series ”, a collection of throwback screenings that will highlight some of Focus’ most successful films including three of Joe Wright 's films: Pride & Prejudice (starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen ), Atonement (starring Keira Knightley with Brenda Blethyn co-starring), and Hanna ( Tom Hollander   co-star)...plus Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Moonrise Kingdom , Brokeback Mountain , Milk , Shaun of the Dead , Burn After Reading , and more. These screening series will be held in Los Angeles , New York , and London .   After garnering her third Oscar nominations ( Pride & Prejudice , Atonement , and Anna Karenina ) from Joe Wright 's literary trilogy of films with Keira Knightley , third time's a charm for the lovely British Costume Designer Jacqueline Durran as she won her first Academy award for Best Achievement in Costume Design for Anna Karenina last night. Actors Jennifer Aniston and Channing Tatum presented Miss Durran her Oscar statue award onstage during the 85th Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on February 24, 2013 in Hollywood, California. With Joe Wright and Keira Knightley 's third film collaboration Anna Karenina (starring Keira Knightley and P&P co-star Matthew Macfadyen ) earning a similar 4 Oscar Nominations , Thursday,  January 10th (minus Keira in the Best Actress category she was only nominated back in 2006 for Elizabeth Bennet role in P&P ...replaced by Best Cinematography for Seamus McGarvey , who was also nominated for Atonement back in 2008)...just thought I'd revisit, reminisce, and look back from this same month of January ( 2006 ), 7 years ago , when their first film collaboration, my all-time favorite Pride & Prejudice film scored 4 Oscar Nominations (including Best actress nod for Keira ). As usual though, poor Joe Wright , who always get snubbed by the Academy Awards since P&P movie. Keira Knightley loves working with her P&P/Atonement/Anna Karenina 's costume designer Jacqueline Durran , which she worked with three times since Pride & Prejudice (and FYI, both women received their first Oscar nominations from P&P movie too! Hopefully, they'll both get another for AK ...). Now, that the first trailer for Joe Wright's new 'Anna Karenina' film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen! is here (which was released about a week ago today), I thought I'd compile all the trailers of brilliant and acclaimed director Joe Wright 's five feature films in one post. In such a short time of this award winning filmmaker's directorial career (following the award-winning box office successes “Pride & Prejudice” and “Atonement” ), JW had directed all 5 of these wonderful and amazing (from period to musical to action and back to period) feature films.

As Keira Knightley promotes her new film Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (see her video interview of it below), which she co-stars with Steve Carell and it's opening in theaters nationwide next Friday ( June 22nd ) , she was interviewed by MTV News and was asked about her upcoming film  Anna Karenina (in select theaters November 9th , which she co-stars with her former P&P co-star Matthew Macfadyen ) and her third film collaboration with director Joe Wright ( Pride & Prejudice and Atonement ) . Variety reports that Lovely Bones (and Atonement ) star Saoirse Ronan will re-team with her Atonement director Joe Wright in a teen assassin flick, Hanna . Here's the mini article... Saoirse Ronan will reteam with " Atonement " helmer Joe Wright in "Hanna," a Focus Features drama that gives the 14-year old actress the chance to be an action hero. UK's Telegraph has a new interview with Pride & Prejudice (2005) director Joe Wright as he promotes his latest film The Soloist , in theaters in the UK , September 25th . Here in the U.S. it was released in theaters, April 24th , and is now available on DVD and Blu-ray .
