Now, that the first trailer for Joe Wright's new 'Anna Karenina' film starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen! is here (which was released about a week ago today), I thought I'd compile all the trailers of brilliant and acclaimed director Joe Wright 's five feature films in one post. In such a short time of this award winning filmmaker's directorial career (following the award-winning box office successes “Pride & Prejudice” and “Atonement” ), JW had directed all 5 of these wonderful and amazing (from period to musical to action and back to period) feature films.

All these familiar Austen Actors (from various and  6 different Austen adapted TV and films: Pride & Prejudice , Sense and Sensibility , Emma , Mansfield Park , Persuasion , and Northanger Abbey as well as other Austen inspired films: Becoming Jane , The Jane Austen Book Club , Lost In Austen , From Prada to Nada , etc.) all have new movies coming out this year. Usually, I would just post about the Must-See TV & films starring P&P (2005) Actors (as after all, this blog is all about them and the P&P movie I love so much) but I like most of these other Austen Actors (ie. Emily Blunt , Anne Hathaway , James McAvoy , Kate Winslet , Hugh Dancy , etc.) too. They are Austen related after all, and  being a big movie aficionado that I am, I couldn't help but notice that a lot of Austen Actors are in so many new films coming out this year (even in the past and previous years). I always see trailers and TV spots whenever I watch a movie in theaters or on TV...

First of, hot on today's casting rumor mill ...According to various websites , Rosamund Pike ( An Education , Pride & Prejudice ) was seen leaving Matthew Vaughan 's production office carrying an Emma Frost comic book , hinting that she may play the long time X-Men Headmistress in his upcoming  X-Men Origins . ( Forces of Geek ). Rosamund Pike is best known for her villainous role as Miranda Frost in " Die Another Day " opposite Pierce Brosnan as James Bond . Times Online reports that... Cinema fans atone for Keira Knightley's Oscar defeat British film fans delivered their verdict on the Oscars after voting Keira Knightley and Atonement the big winners at the Empire magazine awards. The Ian McEwan adaptation, snubbed in the major Oscar categories, took three prizes including Best British Film at the Grosvenor House ceremony. Knightley, also overlooked by the Bafta panel, was finally vindicated after readers of the top-selling film monthly voted her Best Actress. As the 80th Academy Awards fast approaches (this week, on Sunday, Feb. 24th ), I thought I'd post here the most Unforgivable Oscar Snubs of 2007 (relating to Atonement , of course, and other movies I've seen in 2007 that were overlooked by the very same, old Oscars). Here's my top 10 list: 1. Joe Wright ( Atonement ). He should've been nominated for Best Director . Why nominate Atonement for Best Picture (and 6 other categories) without its brilliant director (and 2 lead actors, Knightley and McAvoy ) ? Oscar needs to atone for its repeatative sins on not recognizing and nominating JW for this brilliant film. Not too mention, he should've been nominated for Best Director in his equally brilliant 2005 film debut, Pride & Prejudice . According to the The Press Association , Keira was named Best Actress this evening at the Elle Style Awards . Keira Knightley and Kylie Minogue took top honours at the Elle Style Awards. Knightley, 22, made up for her Bafta disappointment by scooping the best actress prize, while Atonement co-star James McAvoy was named best actor. Minogue, 39, was named Woman of the Year. Hollywood starlet Kate Hudson was crowned Elle Style Icon for her "distinctive and kooky" fashion sense. The glamorous awards ceremony was held at the Westway in Notting Hill, west London. In the TV categories, presenter Kelly Osbourne and Skins star Nicholas Hoult took the prizes. There were also awards for model-of-the-moment Agyness Deyn and singer Kate Nash. Our wait is now over! Becoming Jane is now released in the U.S . and available to purchase on DVD and Blu-Ra y today ( Feb. 12, 2008 )! If you missed this movie last year, don't worry, that's what DVDs are for. So go buy or rent this movie if you haven't seen it. For those of us who have seen it. This movie was great. Anne Hathaway was brilliant as Jane Austen and does James McAvoy as her love interest, Tom Lefroy . The rest of the cast were equally brilliant as well. Atonement lands top Bafta Award Atonement has been named best film at the Bafta Awards - although some other hotly tipped nominees missed out. BAFTA quote from: Paul Webster (producer of best film Atonement): It has been a really brilliant year for cinema. This Bafta goes to all of us I think. 'Astonishing' Atonement , a World War II romance starring James McAvo y and Keira Knightley , began the night with 14 nominations - more than any other film.
