My week is over - sob - but I had a wonderful time sharing a bit of myself with the fabulous visitors here at the 2005 P&P Blog . Thanks again to Jeane for hosting me. You are the bomb, girlie! Continuing the fun Darcy Saga Week here with the last Trivia game for you all to play and enjoy. Thanks to those of you for participating and taking previous P&P Trivia (games #1-2) and all the P&P Quizzes previously posted here. For my final day as a guest on Jeane's fabulous blog for all matters P&P 2005 related, I have decided to share an excerpt from my newly released novel, Loving Mr. Darcy: Journeys Beyond Pemberley . Since I unabashedly admit that my initial inspiration was the movie version of Austen's classic novel, I judge that the readers of this blog will readily visualize the characters and setting of this portion. In one of a handful of flashback moments that occur within my novels, this passage finds Lizzy, now Mrs. Darcy and visiting Hertfordshire with her new husband, strolling to a favored secluded location and then recalling two very different encounters she had with Mr. Darcy in this same spot prior to their marriage. So, with a book and a small basket of edible treats and lemonade, she headed toward a copse of willows she had, when a young girl, christened Willow Bench. On a small rise located at the fenced boundary of Longbourn, where Netherfield abutted, grew a cluster of six ...

Darcy Saga Week marches on and today Jeane turned the focus onto yours truly. Hope you all find this interesting! Jeane: First of all, Congratulations!!! The launch of your first novel ( Mr. & Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy: Two Shall Become One ), volume 1 from the Darcy Saga series was a big success back in March. How did it feel to be one of the many accomplished authors with your books published and on display in major bookstores nationwide and various online retailers? Sharon: I am finding that I use the word surreal a great deal these days! I don’t think I have ever used that word in relation to anything in my life before now, but it sure is apropos. I joke that the first time I saw it sitting on the shelf at Target I half-expected angelic heralding from above. LOL! It was a huge moment for me, but I ended up there alone with a camera that had a dead battery! Talk about ironic. And humbling! I am still such a total nerd about it. Hi all! Well, it is official: Loving Mr. Darcy is a fully released novel. Hopefully it is on bookshelves all across this fine land. All the various online retailers have stock sitting in their warehouses ready to be shipped. Something happened some four years ago that affected both Jeane and myself in a profound way: We watched a movie that touched us . Movies have a remarkable way of doing that, which is why the medium is so powerful a force. Jeane took it upon her shoulders to follow the various actors and the director, Joe Wright , who brought this wonderful story to life. I chose to write a sequel! Uniquely we have shown our love for this movie and Jane Austen, and along the way forged a friendship. Our purpose is the same, that is to keep the movie experience alive and to pay homage to all the people who created this story. Jeane has been astoundingly supportive of my novels. It is in the true Austen-spirit that she continues to kindly encourage me and respect my endeavors to give Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth the future they deserve. Greeting visitors of Pride & Prejudice 2005 Blog! Sharon Lathan here, with a formal invitation! I, as you all probably know, am the author of The Darcy Saga - a sequel to P&P that is largely and proudly inspired by the magnificent 2005 movie by Joe Wright. My second novel in the series will be officially released in 3 DAYS!! Loving Mr. Darcy: Journeys Beyond Pemberley continues on where the first novel – Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy: Two Shall Becom e One – ended. And, in just 4 months the third book in the series will be out. What a year this has been! My head is spinning and I can’t quite wrap my mind around the fact that I am now a multi-published author. Surreal. I am very excited about this book and where I have taken the Darcys. It is a larger novel than the first, both in page number and content.
