My  P&P (2005) movie's 20th Year Anniversary  celebratory posts continues... I previously posted here about the  main cast  and  supporting cast  of  Pride & Prejudice  (2005) whose careers soared and have continued to be busy after their  P&P (2005) film . I thought I'd include the people or rather the key players  behind the scenes  who made this stunningly  beautiful movie  happen as without them, this film adaptation of Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice (novel) wouldn't have been made. Also, some of them are incredibly talented and you may (or may not) have been surprised to have seen their familiar work in other well-known award-winning films. Congratulations to our 4th Bennet girl ,  Carey Mulligan  (aka Miss Kitty Bennet ) for her third Academy award nomination (so happy for Carey ) in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category as Felicia Montealegre Bernstein and her film, Netflix's Maestro for scoring 7 Oscar nominations this morning including Best Picture , Best Actress (for Carey ), and Best Actor for Bradley Cooper !!!  Unfortunately, our other Bennet girl ,  Rosamund Pike  (aka Miss Jane Bennet ) didn’t get in, in the Best Supporting Actress category for her wonderful performance as Espelth Catton in Saltburn . Some new movies, casting, release dates, and filming news info. featuring some  P&P actors  here that I thought I'd post them all in the same post... Pride & Prejudice  director  Joe Wright  is currently filming the Darkest Hour with Working Title Films and Focus Features releasing the first image of lead star Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill . (See movie still above ^). They also recently revealed the creative team behind this movie along with JW . Looks like a few of JW's most frequent collaborators starting from his very first feature film ( P&P ) are back working with him in this new film. Also, some of them are incredibly talented and you may (or may not) have been surprised to have seen their familiar work in other award winning films. The 2015 Oscar Nominations were announced (one of the announcers was Chris Pine , KK 's Jack Ryan costar) very early in the morning (5:30 am PT/8:30 ET),  and I'm very glad my Bennet girls   Rosamund Pike   and   Keira Knightley  made it in, in their acting categories and got Oscar nominated for Best Actress ( Rosamund Pike ) and Best Supporting Actress ( Keira Knightley , her second! First was Best Actress for Pride & Prejudice , almost a decade ago, of course) as they should be. Gone Girl , however, only got one nomination ! *shocking!* (and that was for Miss Pike only, which I'm glad she wasn't snubbed 'cause that would be just... #OMGICantEvenKnow (I was almost worried for her, lol...which I already was after the snubs of GG in other categories. That's unfortunate that  GG film was almost completely shutout, except for RP . I was hoping, but not expecting, at least a 5 nominations for GG including Best Picture , Best Adapted Screen...

Costumes for the 2005   Pride & Prejudice  film were designed by Academy Award winner*   Jacqueline Durran  ( Anna Karenina *), which was nominated for an Academy Award in Best Achievement in Costume Design  in 2006. Despite not winning her first Oscar nomination for P&P , Jaqueline ’s designs (See Pride & Prejudice (2005) Costumes designed by Jacqueline Durran ) have gone on to be used in several Regency era dramas, including   Becoming Jane ,  Sense and Sensibility and   Northanger Abbey . Three-time Oscar Nominee and winner *  Jacqueline Durran  ( Pride & Prejudice , Atonement , and * Anna Karenina ) was the Costume Designer for Pride & Prejudice (2005) film directed by Joe Wright. Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice 200 celebration continues... There's something magical about this Pride & Prejudice (2005) film that no matter how many times we've seen it...in 8 years since its wide release ( November 23, 2005 ) here in the U.S...it just never gets old (at least for me, it never did). There's always something new to discover in every viewing  that you failed to noticed in your previous ones. I know I must have seen this film probably about a  million times now or so (since 2005) and whenever I watch this movie, I'm always immersed by Elizabeth &  Darcy's classic love story (or rather  always distracted by the sight of a certain gentleman, whom we love and admire  most ardently <3 ). ;-)  So, there's always scenes that I may have missed and I'm always amazed at discovering them for the first time like I've never seen them before.   After garnering her third Oscar nominations ( Pride & Prejudice , Atonement , and Anna Karenina ) from Joe Wright 's literary trilogy of films with Keira Knightley , third time's a charm for the lovely British Costume Designer Jacqueline Durran as she won her first Academy award for Best Achievement in Costume Design for Anna Karenina last night. LIVE Blogging Tonight is for the 85th Academy Awards (starting at 7e/4p for its annual red carpet )! Joe Wright 's Anna Karenina (starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen ) film is nominated for 4 Oscars , unfortunately, neither on the acting nor the directing categories, but in the technical categories! Still, glad the Oscars recognized the amazing crew of AK and their beautiful work. Here's hoping they'll win at least one or two or win them all!   Today is the DVD and Blu-ray/DVD Combo (as well as OnDemand and digital downloads ) releases for Joe Wright 's 4-time Academy Award nominated film, Anna Karenina starring former Pride & Prejudice stars Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen ! If you haven't seen this film, like myself, due to its limited US theatrical release, you and I can finally see this movie today! Our wait is now over! So, be sure to get your DVD or Blu-ray copy (or rent it on RedBox, order it OnDemand, purchase your copy on iTunes and Amazon, Netflix it, or whatever you have to do to see this film) as it's available now! I know I'll be purchasing my own Blu-ray/DVD combo copy sometime today and will finally see this movie as soon as I can get my hands on it! Yes, I'm so excited and I can't hide it! The EE British Academy Film Awards 2013 ( BAFTA ) is tonight on BBC America at 8/7c! Joe Wright 's Anna Karenina ( staring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen ) scored 7 BAFTA nominations (including a Rising Star Award for AK 's Alicia Vikander - Vote for her! )!!! UPDATE: BAFTA 2013 Winners has already been announced... and so far the winners are: Best Costume Design - Anna Karenina - Jacqueline Durran Outstanding British Film - Skyfall Best Film Music - Skyfall - Thomas Newman Will post a list of all the winners later tonight! The 85th Academy Award Nominations has been announced this morning and Joe Wright 's Anna Karenina (starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen ) is nominated for 4 Oscars! Once again, no love for our trio: Keira , Matthew , and Joe (in acting and directing categories)...they're in good company though as lots were snubbed in the Oscar nominations this year. But I'm glad that they didn't ignore Anna Karenina 's tech side (ie. Dario Marianelli , Sarah Greenwood , Katie Spencer , Seamus McGarvey , and Jacqueline Durran ) who worked on its brilliant technical side that deserved to be recognized and nominated. Their nominations, at least made up for the lack of the acting categories and directing. Hope they win it all. UPDATE: Anna Karenina just won 2 Critics Choice Awards tonight! The 19th ANNUAL SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS® NOMINATIONS has been announced this morning and there were lots of snubs than nods! One of them is the big snub for Joe Wright 's Anna Karenina and its brilliant ensemble cast . I may not have seen the movie yet, but I've read some rave reviews for its ensemble cast and Keira Knightley herself. No love from the Critics Choice Awards either for Keira , Matthew , Joe , and AK , except for its two nominations : ANNA KARENINA – 2 Nominations Best Art Direction Best Costume Design There are just 3 more big awards left... Golden Globe (which its nominations will be announced tomorrow morning), BAFTA , and the Oscars ...I wonder if AK will get some love in those 3 big awards for Keira , Matthew , and Joe Wright ... The awards season just started...and the 17th Annual Satellite Awards (as voted by International Press Academy) had just been announced. Anna Karenina has 6 nominations including an Actress in a Motion Picture nomination for Keira Knightley (unfortunately, no nominations for Joe Wright and Matthew Macfadyen ), Skyfall has 7 nominations including an Actress in a Supporting Role nomination for Judi Dench , and Flight has about 5 nominations (unfortunately, no nomination for Kelly Reilly ). As Anna Karenina is now showing in limited release in theaters with a strong opening weekend debut . It is adding 11 more states (with several cities and 50+ theater count ) this Thanksgiving week starting on Wednesday ( November 21st ) and Friday (November 23rd ). Find your city here for more theaters to see Anna Karenina! Unfortunately, my city/state is not showing it just yet. It will continue to add more cities though by November 30th and beyond. So, my wait continues... Focus Features has launched their For Your Consideration 2012 website featuring a page for Anna Karenina for the upcoming awards season.
