Late on posting this...PBS Masterpiece recently announced on Jane Austen's 250th birthday ( December 16, 2025 ) that  Miss Austen  starring  Keeley Hawes  (aka  Matthew Macfadyen ’s real-life wife) as Miss  Cassandra Austen , (Jane’s older sister) returns for a second season ! It'll be based on Gill Hornby 's follow-up novel, " The Elopement ," which further delves into the family life of Jane and Cassandra Austen . Tonight the final  2  episodes (3 & 4) of   Miss Austen  starring  Keeley Hawes  (aka  Matthew Macfadyen ’s real-life wife) as Miss  Cassandra Austen , (Jane’s older sister) airs in the U.S. on MASTERPIECE on PBS at  9 pm et/8c .  In the UK, it aired on BBC iplayer and BBC last February 2, 2025!  The timing for this is great as  2025  also marks  250 years  since  Jane Austen  was born. BBC and Masterpiece PBS both has released the trailer for   Miss Austen  starring  Keeley Hawes  (aka  Matthew Macfadyen ’s real-life wife) as Miss  Cassandra Austen , (Jane’s older sister), which will air in  four episodes  in the U.S. on MASTERPIECE on PBS starting  Sunday, May 4, 2025 ,  9/8c .
