Recycled Pride & Prejudice Movie Costumes
Costumes for the 2005 Pride & Prejudice film were designed by Academy Award winner* Jacqueline Durran (Anna Karenina*), which was nominated for an Academy Award in Best Achievement in Costume Design in 2006.
Despite not winning her first Oscar nomination for P&P, Jaqueline’s designs (See Pride & Prejudice (2005) Costumes designed by Jacqueline Durran) have gone on to be used in several Regency era dramas, including Becoming Jane, Sense and Sensibility and Northanger Abbey.

Several gowns from the 2005 Pride & Prejudice were recycled for use in Becoming Jane just two years later. This charming pink dress was first used on Carey Mulligan as Kitty Bennet. When it was used again on Anna Maxwell Martin as Cassandra Austen, some minor alterations seem to have been made. A ruffle has been added around the neck line, and since it is clearly from the same fabric, there is the very real probability that the fabric was obtained from the skirt of the dress.

This red gown was first seen in Pride & Prejudice on Kelly Reilly as Caroline Bingley. It was used again in 2010 on Anna Madeley as Mariana Belcombe in The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister. It was used a third time the 2013 mini-series Death Comes to Pemberley on Jenna Coleman as Lydia Wickham. The dress seems to have undergone some minor adjustments on Jenna Coleman. The front seems to have been pinned a bit higher than the previous times it was used.
