Pride & Prejudice film one of EW.com's Fine Finales: 21 Movie Endings We Love
This isn't new, but you might have missed this interesting P&P tidbit and I thought I'd post it here FYE (for your entertainment)...
According to EW.com, Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen's Pride & Prejudice film is one of the Fine Finales: 21 Movie Endings We Love:
PRIDE & PREJUDICE (2005)
It could have ended in a typical romance-movie fashion, with a beautiful wedding and our heroine Lizzie (Keira Knightley) rushing off into her future with her handsome Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen). Instead, we get something much more adult: a glimpse into their life post-wedding, with the couple bathed in the firelight from torches outside their gorgeous estate. The moment is intimate and sincere, as Lizzie lays out what her husband should call her when she is blissfully, ''incandescently happy'': Mrs. Darcy. —Connie Yu
Speaking of P&P...
From EW's Keira Knightley: Her Memorable Roles:
Pride & Prejudice (2005)
THE ROLE Elizabeth ''Lizzie'' Bennet, the second-eldest of five daughters, finds herself falling for a man who she originally holds in contempt.
WHAT EW SAID Owen Gleiberman: ''Darcy and Lizzie's war of misunderstanding, which keeps dousing their budding affection, is never predictable or coy, and that's because Keira Knightley, in a witty, vibrant, altogether superb performance, plays Lizzie's sparky, questing nature as a matter of the deepest personal sacrifice. She's not a feminist but a confused, ardent girl charting her destiny without a map.''
