Okay, so it's  been a very long time, like about 8 long years since I last  posted here  about a  P&P reference  or  P&P/Darcy/Elizabeth mentioned   in  P&P inspired  books or  other non- P&P   books , in  movies ,  TV shows ,  magazines ,  reviews , or  celebrities  mentioning  Pride and Prejudice   / Jane Austen . I thought I'd update and post here a more recent   P&P   References ,  from the most popular  Jane Austen novel , the  1995   mini-series ,  P&P (2005) movie  or any of the  P&P characters  (ie.  Elizabeth & Darcy ) that were  referenced  a lot in books, magazines, movies, TV shows, reviews, etc...

And one more update here, this time on The Many Faces of Elizabeth Bennet & Fitzwilliam Darcy   with two new upcoming re-telling and Zombie mash-up movies of Jane Austen 's classic Pride and Prejudice novel, the upcoming Hallmark Channel's Unleashing Mr. Darcy starring Ryan Paevey as Donovan Darcy , Cindy Busby as Elizabeth Scott premiering on Hallmark on January 23rd, 2016 and Seth Grahame-Smith 's  Pride and Prejudice and Zombies   film  starring  Lily James & Sam Riley in US Theaters February 5th, 2016 .

Another update here on Then & Now: The Many Faces of Mr. Darcy , to add two new actors playing Mr. Darcy   ( in the long list of actors who played Austen 's iconic and literary hero Mr. Darcy on either big or small screen since 1940) with Ryan Paevey as Donovan Darcy  in the new  Hallmark's WinterFest 2016  Movies  with a January 2016  premiere of  Unleashing Mr. Darcy  and Sam Riley as Mr. Darcy  in   the upcoming  February 2016 release ,  Pride and Prejudice and Zombies , a  parody adaptation/Zombie mash-up   of  Jane Austen 's classic   Pride and Prejudice   novel. Taking a little pause here from our on going P&P (2005) movie's 10th Year Anniversary event ...to celebrate another big P&P anniversary , this time the 20th Anniversary of the Andrew Davies penned 1995 Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle . It first aired in the UK's BBC One network back in September 24th, 1995 (exactly 20 years ago today)! Happy 20th Anniversary P&P 1995!! I am always baffled and downright mystified by how many self-described Austen fans disparage the 2005 feature film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice . It’s understandable that many, including myself, have a deep and abiding affection for a beloved work of fiction and that this same affinity yields very strong feelings. However, what I don’t quite comprehend is the reasoning behind the disdain, which can be frequently assigned to purists and/or devotees of the seminal 1995 BBC/A&E mini-series . First and foremost an adaptation can't possibly be an exact replica. Film is an entirely different medium and it needn't be precise in order to have merit.  by    slightly everything

A few handsome Darcys, a couple Wickhams, and a Bingley, please?! How lucky is Miss Keira Knightley to have worked with these handsome P&P/Austen actors (including a few Matthews: Macfadyen , Rhys , and Goode )? Then, she was (and still is to this day) the only Elizabeth Bennet actress to be the youngest and exact same age ( 20 ) as her EB book counterpart when her   Pride & Prejudice  movie was released almost 10 years ago (in 2005 ). Now, she's also, the only Elizabeth Bennet to have worked with (most of them more than once) a few Darcy actors (her P&P movie and Anna Karenina co-star Matthew Macfadyen , Colin Firth of  Pride and Prejudice 1995 and her Love Actually / Steve co-star, and her The Edge of Love co-star Matthew Rhys of Death Comes To Pemberley ), a couple Wickham s (her ex-boyfriend and former P&P movie/ The Suicide Brothers co-star Rupert Friend and her The Imitation Game co-star Matthew Goode of Death Comes To Pemb...

September 2015 is less than 5 months away, I know, but it's going to be a big P&P anniversary month . Pride & Prejudice fans will have a double P&P anniversaries to celebrate come September. Whether you, as a P&P fan , prefer one or the other or both the 1995 TV mini-series ( BBC and A&E) and 2005 film ( Focus Features ) versions of Jane Austen 's over two centuries classic Pride and Prejudice , both screen adaptations are turning a decade or two with anniversary milestone of their own TV broadcast and film Cinema release in September . Happy New Year's Eve! This is my 250th and last post for 2014 . As I wait (4 more hours here, ET in my time zone!) to welcome the new year, I thought I'd post here 15 things I look forward to seeing and hope to happen (and more) in the coming New Year , 2015 ! In random order...

Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy are 20 and 28 years old in Jane Austen 's original Pride and Prejudice novel. Several actors have played/portrayed Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy in both big screen and small screen since 1940 to this day (to date), but did you know, only one pair of EB / Darcy actors were exactl y or rather the closest to their book counterparts ? Here's a compiled list (though the *LBD series pairing is included in both picture and the list below, their ages are in ??? since I don't know their ages at all as they are not listed anywhere, neither on their official sites, nor IMDB...my guess would be, they're either in the mid to late 20s or so...) to see which EB/Darcy pairing (of P&P actors ) is accurate in terms of ages as their book counterparts ...
