Pride & Prejudice (2005) FAN Blog

With the recently aired/streamed  The Other Bennet Sister  and the new trailer for the upcoming  Sense and Sensibility  film, time to update and post  about a P&P reference or P&P/Darcy/Elizabeth mentioned in P&P inspired books or other non- P&P books , in movies , TV shows , magazines , reviews , or celebrities mentioning Pride and Prejudice / Jane Austen . I thought I'd update and post here a more recent P&P References , this time from the very recent hit from BBC/BritBox  series  The Other Bennet Sister and from the upcoming new Sense and Sensibility (2026)  film  from Focus Features and Working Title Films (same distributor and producers of P&P 2005 film).

Okay, so it's  been a few years since I last  posted here  about a  P&P reference  or  P&P/Darcy/Elizabeth mentioned   in  P&P inspired  books or  other non- P&P   books , in  movies ,  TV shows ,  magazines ,  reviews , or  celebrities  mentioning  Pride and Prejudice   / Jane Austen . I saw  David Fincher 's  Gone Girl  starring  Rosamund Pike   and   Ben Affleck  last Friday, on its opening day, and I just posted my full Film Review: Gone Girl in my other blog, In The Mood For Movies , where I post my general movie reviews (of the movies I've seen in theaters). This was one of my most anticipated films to see this year. It was worth the wait and worth watching too (at least for me). I highly recommend you see this especially if you want to see Rosamund in her first lead starring role in the current #1 movie in America right now. You will be mind-blown by her amazing performance as Amy Dunne in this movie. Go see it, if you can or get a chance, this weekend! It looks like it's going to top this weekend's domestic Box Office chart again for the second weekend in a row (but, of course, we'll find out tomorrow afternoon when BO results is released). Read part of my Gone Girl film review below...

UPDATE (#2) 2/6/14 : Added a new P&P reference from the new CBS comedy series The Crazy Ones starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar . Check it out below! UPDATED 11/8/13 : A new Victoria Secret " Victoria " Fragrance TV Commercial features the track: Liz On Top Of The World (as the music they used on the background) from Pride & Prejudice  ( 2005 ) film soundtrack. Scroll down below to see and hear the embedded video added in this post below. Plus another P&P (2005) movie reference... [ Updated 1/29/14 : Replaced previous blurry screen caps with better quality ones, fixed dialogue and more...] I have previously mentioned the Emma Roberts ' teen flick , Wild Child in the Pride & Prejudice References in Pop Culture (Part 2) as one of the movies that referenced P&P movie , but I've never seen the movie until now when ABC Family recently premiered it last Sunday. I had DVR'd it, since I didn't get to see it when it aired. Just saw this movie this past Thursday and now I know which parts/scenes from the movie it references P&P movie and mentions Keira Knightley . I thought it was pretty cool and had to laughed at those two brief  scenes (including one of the characters sketching one of Keira 's Elizabeth Bennet 's costumes/dresses and showed pictures of KK as EB from the P&P movie ...see screen cap collage I made of it on top, to your left or below), as they were funny, lol. I wish I have the clips to show you and shar...

A last post for 2009 as we said goodbye to the past year (and decade)...and ring in the New Year 2010 (and new decade ) in just less than two hours (eastern time) from now. Here are more P&P (2005 film) References in Pop Culture (source: via imdb.com )... But first, as you can see in the first image here (to your left), our very own Keira Knightley (aka Elizabeth Bennet from the Oscar nominated Pride & Prejudice (2005) film) was holding a Pride and Prejudice novel (by Jane Austen ) for the READ campaign (for the American Library Association ) back in 2005. I just noticed recently that Keira did this (back in '05) and I saw a huge pic of her on display on the wall in my niece's Elementary School's media/library (I think the same pic is probably on display on every Elem. School's media/library walls around the country).

Talulah Riley 's upcoming film St. Trinians , which she plays Annabelle Fritton will be in U.S. theaters October 2, 2009 . She co-starred here with veteran British actor Rupert Everett, P&P '95 's Colin Firth , Mishca Barton, and Gemma Arterton to name a few. Visit the cool official website here . Check out and watch the trailer below. It looks funny and it was interesting to see Talulah 's character transformed herself from a plain girl (ala her P&P character Mary Bennet ... she had the Mary Bennet look in some scenes, lol... see screen caps I made below! ) to glam/naughty school girl after she was made over by those mean girls clique. Not too mention, I found a lil' P&P Darcy reference , not only that P&P '95 's Darcy himself Colin Firth co-stars in this movie, One of Rupert Everette 's characters, Miss Fritton (Aunt to Talulah 's character Annabel Fritton ) has a dog name Mr. Darcy here too, lol. Anyway... Watch the H...
