In Retrospect: 10 Years of Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice and 10 reasons why I still love watching it more and more!

Image
Our P&P (2005) movie's 10th Year Anniversary event here continues... Today ( September 16th ), Joe Wright 's Pride & Prejudice (2005) film's (starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen ) 10th year anniversary . I thought I would post or rather combined and edited a re-post (from two of my old posts:   P&P 200: Why you should watch Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice film adaptation... ( #10 ) and In Retrospect: 9 Years of Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice and 9 reasons why I still love watching it more and more! ) about the 10 reasons why this film adaptation of Jane Austen 's classic Pride and Prejudice novel remains my all-time favorite movie to watch (over and over) for exactly a decade now and I still love watching it more and more. It's one of those few, rare movies that just never gets old in my viewing no matter how many times I've seen it over the years. I just never seem to get tired of watching it. I...

This year (last September 16th in the UK and last month of November 11th limited and 23rd expansion in US/Canada ), Joe Wright 's Pride & Prejudice (2005) film starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen had its 9th year anniversary . Okay, I'm late (but better late than never, right?) on this, but I thought I'd still post here about 9 reasons why this film adaptation of Jane Austen 's classic Pride and Prejudice novel remains my all-time favorite movie to watch (over and over) for nearly a decade now and I still love watching it more and more. It's one of those few, rare movies that just never gets old in my viewing no matter how many times I've seen it over the years. I just never get tired of watching it. I've seen so many movies and love movies in various genres. If you've been following and reading this blog for years, you'd know that when I post my film reviews related to P&P (2005) actors here, I link the full...

Visiting the Inspirations behind Pride and Prejudice by Olivia Lennox

Image
For anybody visiting England, traveling to Jane Austen’s birthplace and other nearby locations is both a fascinating and insightful experience for any Pride and Prejudice fan . The locations where Jane Austen lived and worked provided much of the inspiration that enabled her to pen such a masterpiece, and seeing these for yourself is a memorable and rewarding experience. Nestled away in the quiet English countryside, just outside the town of Basingstoke in Hampshire, is the leafy village of Steventon, where Jane Austen was born and raised. Steventon provided Austen with much of her inspiration for Pride and Prejudice , which she wrote whilst living there. When Jane Austen was born, in 1775, stage coaches to London regularly stopped by on the Winchester Road, formerly Popham Lane, where the young writer would walk with her father and soak in the inspiration provided by the village and its regular visitors.

P&P Cast filming Pride & Prejudice film this summer 7 years ago

Image
I posted here a year ago about the Principal photography for Pride & Prejudice film started this month six years ago . I thought I'd post here about it (again) this year with more cast interviews , on set , and behind the scenes info and images as it's been 7 years this month since they filmed the movie and shot entirely on location in the beautiful English countryside . I've been very fortunate to have visited at least two of those wonderful filming locations in Derbyshire (see some of my Photos: Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall as Pride & Prejudice's Pemberley and Inn at Lambton (P&P/Derbyshire filming locations) ) almost a year ago ( September 2010 ) when I went on My first European trip . Anyway, the 4-time Academy Award (as well as 2-time Golden Globe and 6-time BAFTA ) nominated 2005 film, Pride & Prejudice starring Academy Award nominee Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen began filming seven years ago last month ( J...

Photos: P&P Filming Locations (updated)

'Pride & Prejudice Country' Pride & Prejudice (2005) film stars Keira Knightley , Matthew Macfadyen , Brenda Blethyn , Donald Sutherland , Tom Hollander , Rosamund Pike , Jena Malone , and Judi Dench . Travel to destinations featured in Pride & Prejudice Movies are often an inspiration for travelers, especially when the location is as beautiful as the English countryside. The fact that the East Midlands region of England was used extensively for location filming for Pride and Prejudice is especially fitting given that Jane Austen drew on the Derbyshire landscape for some of her most descriptive passages in the novel. Austen's descriptions of the county refer to there being "no finer county in England than Derbyshire", and feature "all the celebrated beauties of Matlock, Chatsworth, Dovedale, and the Peak". (from VisitBritain ) Here are some newly added and updated photos and locations (of the location/hous...

And in part 2 of My First European trip (September 2010) , I shared my photos from London ( England ), Paris ( France ), and parts of Bakewell ( Derbyshire ) including Haddon Hall . I took more photos (I have tons of them, actually) and I thought I'd share more especially the photos that's relevant to this blog as I took more pics from Chatsworth House ( Pemberley scenes ) and Haddon Hall ( Lambton Inn scenes ), two of Pride & Prejudice film's filming Locations I was fortunate enough to have had a chance to tour and visit to this y...

As previously posted in part 1 of My first European trip (September 2010) , I shared some photos and my wonderful experience from my recent holiday and visit to the beautiful countryside of England ( Derbyshire , Yorkshire , and Lincolnshire ) and the lovely Scotland , UK . Here's part 2 and a continuation of my first European trip experience . In this second part, we were back to England and were off to London for a few days and two nights stay. My first European trip (September 2010)

Image
( all photos by Jeane . Click all images to enlarge!) I've always wanted to travel and visit Europe (ie. London, England ; Paris, France , and Rome, Italy to name a few European countries ), but didn't know when or if it will ever happen anytime soon. Though I knew someday I will eventually go and visit at least one of those beautiful and picturesque European countries I've often wondered about (and had dreamt of visiting and seeing them in person), but only had the pleasure in seeing them in pictures or my favorite movies, lol. I thought it will probably be a long time before I ever get an opportunity and a chance to go there. Interestingly, my sister and her family were thinking of visiting her in-laws for a week or two. So, I asked my sister if they wouldn't mind me going along with them. I told her I would really love to go with them and they said, yes, of course. Our original plan was just to visit Bakewell , Derbyshire and London , England , but as ...

Plus, of course, I took lots of close-up photos of Mr. Darcy's bust (I can assure you all, it's safely on display at the Orangery gift shop inside Chatsworth House ... again, much thanks to all P&P fans who signed the Save Mr. Darcy Bust petition ), hehe...will upload them all and post my Derbyshire experience here at the P&P Blog soon... :) Have lots to catch up here on the blog with the latest P&P actors ' related news-wise...will get to them as soon as I can...For now, here's one of the pics I took of the beautiful Peak District upon my first arrival in Derbyshire ...I had a Lizzie/P&P moment when I fi...

Pride & Prejudice Trivia (Game #3)

Image
Continuing the fun Darcy Saga Week here with the last Trivia game for you all to play and enjoy. Thanks to those of you for participating and taking previous P&P Trivia (games #1-2) and all the P&P Quizzes previously posted here. Hope you had fun taking them as much as I had fun making them here for you. Have fun on this last one. If you did very well on the previous ones, this one should be a lot more fun and easy for you to play/try taking on. Though I thought I'd make them a lil' harder and more challenging for you all to take and see how much you know or remember some facts, scenes, locations, the title tracks from the soundtrack, etc. from this amazing film. The answers, of course, are posted here (as well as the previous trivia game #2) after each part of the quizzes/questions. Ok, without further ado, enjoy and have fun taking the following... Pride & Prejudice Trivia (Game #3) Matching Match the following P&P movie locations to their actual location...

P&P 05 Movie Location Photos

Image
Here are photos of the location/houses where P&P movie was filmed. click images below to enlarge! Longbourn The Bennets' Home in P&P '05 Groombridge Place used as 'Longbourn' Situated near Tunbridge Wells on the border of Kent and East Sussex in Southern England, Groombridge Place is a tranquil moated house of mellow brick, set within acres of gardens. Although a dwelling was first built on the site around the year 1200, the present house dates from late 1600s, when the first formal gardens were planned with the help of the celebrated horticulturist John Evelyn. While the house is a private home, the gardens are open to the public throughout the summer, and are visited by 200,000 people each year. The production was fortunate to want to use the house as the Bennet family home at a time when the property had changed hands (for only the second time in 400 years), and the new owner was persuaded to delay his own plans for interior redecoration until afte...
