Rosamund Pikeis currently (and was spotted filming a scene with director David Fincher) filming Gone Girlin Cape Girardeau, Missouri.It started principal photography last week. Last night's Primetime Emmy Awardshost, Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) confirmed on Jay Leno last week that he's going to be in this film and he will start filming his scenes today (right after he hosted the Emmys). Speaking of the Emmys, Gone Girl director David Fincherwon an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for Netflix's House of Cards.

Joe Wright to direct a film adaptation to 'A Season In The Congo'?

Joe Wrightmight direct a film adaptation to A Season In The Congo, the recent play he successfully directed (with rave reviews) with its star Chiwetel Ejiofor possibly starring in the adaptation as well.

The rising U.K. theatre, The Young Vic, are expanding their reach into moviemaking, adapting their stage plays into film versions, and helping to kick off this initiative will be "A Season In The Congo," set to be directed by Joe Wright. Over the summer, Wright and Ejiofor presented the play, tracking the rise and fall of Congo's first democratically elected leader Patrice Lumumba, at the Young Vic to rave reviews and now they'll be seeing if it can work on the big screen. There's no word yet on who is penning the screenplay, but the production will shoot on location in Kinshasa, and not only that, November will be also see the release of a short spin-off film based on the play. The 65th PrimeTime Emmy Awards(hosted by Neil Patrick Harris) is LIVE tonight on CBS starting at 8:00 PM ET. PBS Masterpiece's Downton Abbey (co-stars) scored 12 nominationsHomeland, the hit Showtime sophomore series that Rupert Friend was a recurring (regular) guest star earned 11 nominations including one for Rupert (his very first Emmy Nomination!) for Outstanding Guest Actor for a Drama Series!  Unfortunately, Rupert didn't win, but he attended and was a presenter at last Sunday's Creative Arts Emmys. Downton Abbey ( co-star as Isobel Crawley) kicks off its fourth season this Sunday, September 22nd on ITV in the UK. Unfortunately, like the previous 3 seasons, U.S. fans (like myself) will have to wait until January 5th for PBS Masterpiece to premiere it here in the U.S. The new season starts six months on from the death of Downton heir Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens), son of Isobel Crawley.

Rupert Friend to be a presenter at this Sunday's 2013 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards

According to Deadline, Rupert Friend, who is nominated this year for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor from his guest starring/recurring role in Showtime's Homeland(nominated with 11 Emmys this year!)has been added as a presenter for this Sunday's 2013 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards. The Primetime Creative Arts Emmys will be held on Sunday, September 15th at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles. A two-hour, edited presentation will air Saturday, September 21st at 9:00 PM (ET/PT) on FXX.The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards will be held on September 22nd on CBS.

Season 3 of Homeland premieres later this month on September 29th at 9 PM ET on Showtime.

The Weinstein Company acquires U.S. rights for John Carney's TIFF crowd favorite 'Can A Song Save Your Life?' starring Keira Knightley

Yesterday, Keira Knightleyattended the TIFF premiere of her new film, Can A Song Save Your Life?Today, The Weinstein Company has acquired the US distribution rights to John Carney’s romantic filmCan a Song Save Your Life?No U.S. theatrical release date yet, but now with a US distributor, it is likely to have a either a December 2013 release or sometime in 2014. Let's hope for the former as the film's said to be a TIFF crowd favorite and would be a good holiday release.

From the director of the Academy Awards Winning film ONCE (Best Original Song), CAN A SONG SAVE YOUR LIFE? stars Academy Award Nominees Keira Knightley (as Gretta), Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld, and Catherine Keener. Adam Levine also co-star.

New 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' stills featuring Donald Sutherland and Jena Malone

The official website for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (via The Hunger Games Explorer) has been updated with lots of new contents including the cast & crew and new stills for the principal cast and their characters. The newstills features 's President Snow and Jena Malone's Johanna Mason.
Advance Tickets for Catching Fire goes on sale October 1st! Also, the official movie soundtrack for Catching fire will be released in November via Republic Records.

The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, and Amanda Plummer. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in theaters and IMAX on November 22nd.

New 'Philomena' UK poster featuring Judi Dench

A new UK poster above ^ via Impawards has been released for Judi Dench's upcoming new film Philomena has been getting some early rave reviews at the recent Venice Film Festival and some early Oscar buzz for both Dench and the film. It just won Screenplay award there as well. It opens in the UK Cinemas November 1st and a NY and LA limited threatrical release on Christmas day in the U.S. (with a wide released scheduled for January 10th, 2014).

A world-weary political journalist picks up the story of a woman's search for her son, who was taken away from her decades ago after she became pregnant and was forced to live in a convent. According to Deadline:
