Pride & Prejudice  director  Joe Wright  is currently filming the Darkest Hour with Working Title Films and Focus Features releasing the first image of lead star Gary Oldman as Winston Churchill . (See movie still above ^). They also recently revealed the creative team behind this movie along with JW . Looks like a few of JW's most frequent collaborators starting from his very first feature film ( P&P ) are back working with him in this new film. Oscar Nominees and Winners * such as  Dario Marianelli  (nominated for P&P , Atonement , Anna Karenina and winner for Best Original Score for JW's * Atonement ), Jacqueline Durran  (nominated for Best Achievement in Costume Design for  Pride & Prejudice , Atonement ,  and winner in * Anna Karenina ),  Sarah Greenwood  (nominated for Best Production Design for P&P , Atonement , and Anna Karenina ), and  Katie Spencer  (nominated for Best Set Decorator/Product...

I previously posted here last March that  Pride & Prejudice  director  Joe Wright   is in talks to direct another Churchill related movie, titled Darkest Hour . Here's an update with a confirmation of JW directing the WWII film with recent casting and theatrical release dates announced for both US and International. Also, with production and filming underway, JW is reteaming with Working Title Films  (formerly Working Title Productions) and Focus Features , which will be his 4th feature film after P&P , Atonement , and Anna Karenina and 5th after Hanna (Focus Features) . The main cast are interesting choices with Gary Oldman as PM Winston Churchill , Kristin Scott Thomas as Churchill's wife Clementine , and  Lily James  (aka Pride and Prejudice and Zombies 's own Elizabeth Bennet )   as Churchill's personal secretary Elizabeth Nel . John Hurt and Ben Mendelsohn also star. Looks like no P&P actor , for the first time, is part...

This is interesting. Matthew Macfadyen just co-starred (in a small part) in ITV's Churchill's Secret , which recently aired in UK's ITV channel last February 28th (and will air sometime this year on PBS Masterpiece in the US). Now, Matthew 's Pride & Prejudice director Joe Wright   is in talks to direct another Churchill related movie. This one is a different take though for the big screen from Working Title Films (who produced JW 's Pride & Prejudice , Atonement , and Anna Karenina films). According to Deadline , the writer of Working Title's award-winning film The Theory of Everything penned the story and co-produces the film along with P&P producers Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner . Production is set to start in July with casting underway. If JW (officially) signed on to do this film, it'll be interesting to see who will get cast as Churchill and the supporting cast.
