I recently binge-watched  The Other Bennet Sister 's limited (10, 30-minute-long episodes) series on BritBox. I must say, I loved and enjoyed watching this little Pride and Prejudice spin-off show as told in Mary Bennet 's POV from the first episode to the last one. It was fun and entertaining to watch.  Read my review of TOBS series below...

Netflix has announced today a December 3, 2026 premiere date for its upcoming six-part limited series adaptation of Jane Austen 's Pride and Prejudice starring Emma Corrin as Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy . Also, new promotional posters of Emma & Jack as Elizabeth & Darcy and first look images of the main cast have been released. Great news for  The Other Bennet Sister  ( starring Ella Bruccoleri)  fans of the series ahead of its last episode (10) drop today, as according to Variety , its coming back on BBC and BritBox for a 3-part Christmas Special to celebrate its viewers and ratings success.  Read more info. via Variety below...

Netflix has released today a first look of Emma Corrin 's Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden 's Mr. Darcy in the first teaser trailer of the upcoming six-part limited series adaptation of Jane Austen 's Pride and Prejudice . Two new upcoming Pride and Prejudice related limited series are coming sometime soon or later this year. The Bennet Sister (BBC/BritBox) and Netflix's own Pride and Prejudice adaptation. For P&P/Austen fans who love watching any screen adaptations (with an open mind), this is great news and a win, as all 3 recently announced adaptations are currently in production (which is very rare to be happening at the same month/year) and are possibly aiming for a 2026 theatrical release or streaming premiere. It's also worth noting that it won't be a long wait to see a new P&P and Austen adaptations as all 3 are mostly likely to be release next year! The full cast (sans for the actress playing Charlotte Lucas…hopefully they’ll add her soon) has been announced along with the first look of the Bennet women for Netflix’s upcoming new 6-part limited series   Pride and Prejudice  adaptation (starring  Emma Corrin &   Jack Lowden ) as filming officially is underway in the UK for a possible 2026 release. Last October 2024, BBC announced a new drama The Other Bennet Sister .The ten part-series is a fresh spin around the ballroom for one of Jane Austen’s most unassuming characters: Mary Bennet ! Deadline Hollywood reported yesterday that BritBox streamer is on board to co-producing and has taken the rights to stream it for the U.S. and Canada. And today, Deadline also reported that Ella Bruccoleri (Call The Midwife, Bridgerton) has been cast in the main role, Mary Bennet in The Other Bennet Sister ! While Pride and Prejudice/Austen fandom had been reacting strongly negative to a rumored Netflix P&P series in development, there’s yet another new P&P retelling on its early development titled “Pride” from Alloy Entertainment and The Obama’s Higher Ground Productions producing! Meanwhile, whatever happened to “Netherfield Girls”?! This was the first contemporary P&P adaptation, a Netflix romcom movie that was announced as in development back in 2021 with “Never Have I Ever” star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan reportedly cast as Lizzie Bennet. Currently, there’s no new update on this one.  Since we’re at it with these recent news of P&P TV & Film adaptations in the works, here’s a list of currently in development (including those in development for years now)…

Another Pride and Prejudice related series is rumored to be in development, this time it is said to be from Netflix. Also, Daisy Edgar-Jones is rumored to play Elizabeth Bennet, but of course, that came from the Daily Mail. So, both should be filed under rumors , for now.  Well, “ The Other Bennet Sister ” BBC series is happening for sure, and according to Deadline, it’ll be airing during BBC’s own P&P 1995’s 30th anniversary in September 2025! As for this Netflix one, according to Variety …

According to Variety , a new contemporary Pride and Prejudice screen adaptation titled “The Netherfield Girls” is in the works at Netflix! 

I posted here prevously last November 2018 about another new Pride and Prejudice adaptation for the small screen in 2019 with a few familiar faces in the ensemble cast. Lifetime (cable network) greenlighted a TV movie adaptation of Jane Austen 's Pride and Prejudice aptly titled Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta , a modern contemporary take of Austen's timeless classic novel, based in Atlanta, Georgia with an all Black cast. Hallmark Channel just released the official poster and preview trailer (including a behind the scenes on location and cast interviews) Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe starring Lacey Chabert (as Darcy Fitzwilliam) & Brendan Penney (as Luke Bennet), which will air on Hallmark Channel a week from today, Black Friday November 23rd, at 8/7c. Last week's (October 27th) first original Christmas movie of 2018 (and also first of two Pride and Prejudice related/inspired of Christmas movies) for Hallmark Channel was Christmas at Pemberley Manor starring Jessica Lowndes (as Elizabeth Bennet) & Michael Rady (as William Darcy)...was a big ratings hit .
