Pride & Prejudice (2005) FAN Blog

Bored on extended lockdown or quarantine life? Running out of movies to watch? Well, I've compiled 10 movies (yes, including P&P movie, of course) starring or co-starring Pride & Prejudice (2005) movie actors to recommend you to add in your stay-at-home watch list. You may or may not have seen some of these movies, but if you haven't yet, I recommend you check them out and add them to your list to watch right now or for later. Though I've previously posted a 2-part movie recommendations list here: Movie Recommendations: TV & Films starring P&P actors and   Movie Recommendations: Other TV & Films starring P&P actors (part 2) almost a decade ago, I thought I'd bring it back with a new revised and updated list. Also, I've shorten the rec list to just 10 movies that not only I've seen (including the most recent Downton Abbey movie), but also I've loved and enjoyed watching (and even re-watched over the years). These movies are a mu...

I saw Johnny English Reborn and  The Big Year recently and both had Rosamund Pike co-starring in supporting roles as Kate Sumner , a Behavioral Psychologist  (in Johnny English Reborn ) and Jessica , a housewife (in The Big Year ). Rosamund Pike had 4 films (interestingly, I've seen all 4 of them!) released in theaters this year including these two. The other two were indie films: Barney's Version , which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Make-Up and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in Comedy/Musical for Paul Giamatti , while Rosamund earn critical rave reviews for her supporting role as the title character's third wife and true love Miriam Grant Panofsky . I've seen this movie (and own it on Blu-ray/DVD) and loved it. Rosamund was brilliant in this film. Great movie! The other film was Burning Palms (with a big ensemble cast and told in 5 different stories that will mess you up for life ...or so it says...according to the film's tagline), ...

According to ThePlaylist , Rosamund Pike ( Photo by Samir Hussein/Getty Images Europe ) along with Inglorious Basterd's Diane Kruger are in early talks to star in The Godmother . The Godmother is an adaptation of Carrie Adams ’ novel of the same name and follows Tessa, the childless serial godmother of the title, as she grapples with the problems of her friends, while questioning her no-strings-attached lifestyle. Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) is attached to direct from a script penned by Oscar-winning writer  Ron Bass (My Best Friend’s Wedding). Unanimous Pictures will produce with filming expected to start around mid-Summer 2011 for an aim of a 2012 release . The British Academy Film Awards ( BAFTA ) just announced their LONGLIST of possible nominees for the 2011 BAFTA and the shortlist and final nominations will be announced on January 18th . BAFTA will take place on Sunday 13 February 2011 . Our P&P actors : Rosamund Pike , Carey Mulligan , and  Colin Firth made the BAFTA Longlist along with their films such as RP 's Barney's Version and Made In Dagenham , CM 's Never Let Me Go , and CF 's The King's Speech . As usual, BAFTA snubbed Keira Knightley once again for her wonderful role in Never Let Me Go , like they snubbed her previously in Pirates / P&P / The Duchess films...and yet Gemma Arterton (no pun intended) made the BAFTA longlist for her two films less popular or well-known than her Prince of Persia (which I loved and enjoyed) and Keira 's NLMG films combine. Not too mention, her   NLMG co-stars Carey and Andrew Garfield made the longlist each, but no Keira (not even in her...

Surprisingly, no nominations for either  Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan and their film, Never Let Me Go (interestingly, their co-star Andrew Garfield did for British Actor of the Year ), but wow and a big YAY for Rosamund Pike (photo by London Evening Standard ) for scoring double nominations from her two films, Barney's Version and Made In Dagenham while Colin Firth (including two nods for him) and The King's Speech continue to dominate with 7 nominations from the 31st London Film Critics Circle Awards Nominations , which will be held February 10th, 2011 . Here are Rosamund Pike's nominations in the following categories: BRITISH ACTRESS OF THE YEAR Helena Bonham Carter – The King’s Speech (Momentum) Lesley Manville – Another Year (Momentum) Rosamund Pike – Barney’s Version (Universal) Ruth Sheen – Another Year (Momentum) Tilda Swinton – I Am Love (Metrodome) BRITISH ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE Helena Bonham Carter – Alice in Wonderland (Disn...

Rosamund Pike attended The Consul General Of Canada Screening Of "Barney's Version" at Linwood Dunn Theater, Los Angeles, CA, December 2nd, 2010 . According to this The Globe and Mail article: Starry night in Los Angeles for Barney’s Version gala It was a festive evening in the heart of Los Angeles Thursday evening at the Linwood Dunn Theater, where more than 250 guests attended a private gala screening of Barney’s Version , based upon Mordecai Richler’s 1997 novel. The film, starring Paul Giamatti, Rosamund Pike, Dustin Hoffman and Minnie Driver, opened in L.A. and New York on Friday in order to qualify for Oscar contention.

Apparently, the trailer I previously posted here , was a Canadian trailer version as eOne FilmsCanada is distributing the Canadian theatrical release (which is December 17th ) for Barney's Version starring Paul Giamatti and Rosamund Pike . Meanwhile the U.S. trailer version (which  Sony Pictures Classics is distributing and will be releasing it in theaters January 14th, 2011 ) has just been released by Yahoo! Movies exclusively Thursday! It's slightly different from the Canadian trailer. It has a few different scenes that was not on the Canadian trailer. I made screen captures of them with Rosamund Pike (that wasn't on the other trailer) below...

The new extended Canadian/international trailer for Rosamund Pike 's new film, Barney's version , which she co-stars with Paul Giamatti (Sideways), Minnie Driver (The Phantom of the Opera, Good Will Hunting), Rachelle Lefevre (Twilight, New Moon), Scott Speedman (Felicity), and Dustin Hoffman is now online! It features heavily of Rosamund Pike too! Looks like she has a big supporting role here than in Made in Dagenham . Can't wait! This is definitely one of her new films I'm looking forward to seeing her more! Also, Sony Pictures Classics just released several production stills of the film with 4 stills featuring RP (plus 2 more from the Canadian BV website) and now has the Canadian theatrical release date for December 17th, 2010, UK Cinemas on January 7th, and a U.S. theatrical release date for January 14th, 2011 !!! The UK's Daily Mail has a new (and very interesting read) Rosamund Pike (photo by Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images Europe ) Interview as she promotes her new films Made In Dagenham (in theaters October 1st in the UK and November 19th in the US ) and Barney's Version . Here's an excerpts of her interview: Rosamund Pike : From reluctant English rose to Britain's new screen queen Rosamund Pike and I are meeting for lunch in a pub near London’s Old Vic theatre. Not because she’s appearing in a show there, but because the kitchen serves the likes of deep-fried pig’s head, cold roast beef on dripping toast and lamb sweetbreads. Just scanning the menu makes me blanch, but the 31-year-old former Bond girl – Keira Knightley’s sister in Pride and Prejudice and Carey Mulligan’s friend in An Education – hasn’t tried offal before , and what is the point of life if not the giddy accumulation of lovely, new experiences? Rosamund Pike was born in London. Her parents Julian...
