While Pride and Prejudice/Austen fandom had been reacting strongly negative to a rumored Netflix P&P series in development, there’s yet another new P&P retelling on its early development titled “Pride” from Alloy Entertainment and The Obama’s Higher Ground Productions producing! Meanwhile, whatever happened to “Netherfield Girls”?! This was the first contemporary P&P adaptation, a Netflix romcom movie that was announced as in development back in 2021 with “Never Have I Ever” star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan reportedly cast as Lizzie Bennet. Currently, there’s no new update on this one.  Since we’re at it with these recent news of P&P TV & Film adaptations in the works, here’s a list of currently in development (including those in development for years now)…

Hallmark Channel just released the official poster and preview trailer (including a behind the scenes on location and cast interviews) Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe starring Lacey Chabert (as Darcy Fitzwilliam) & Brendan Penney (as Luke Bennet), which will air on Hallmark Channel a week from today, Black Friday November 23rd, at 8/7c. Last week's (October 27th) first original Christmas movie of 2018 (and also first of two Pride and Prejudice related/inspired of Christmas movies) for Hallmark Channel was Christmas at Pemberley Manor starring Jessica Lowndes (as Elizabeth Bennet) & Michael Rady (as William Darcy)...was a big ratings hit . Back from the dead, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies resurfaced with a new director and lead female set to be cast. According to Variety , Burr Steers ( 17 Again , Charlie St. Cloud ) is on board to direct with Lily Collins ( Mortal Instruments: City of Bones , Mirror Mirror , The Blind Side ) in negotiations to star as Elizabeth Bennet in the adaptation of Seth Grahame Smith ’s mash-up of Jane Austen 's literary classic Pride and Prejudice . Hmm, interesting development (with casting Lily Collins as Elizabeth Bennet and the director they chose...that's like a downgrade from  Natalie Portman and David O. Russell who were previously on board to star and direct this same film) and slight title change...
