What We Did On Our holiday is about a feuding couple, Doug and Abi, who are taking their three children on a trip to Scotland for a big family gathering. They are in the midst of a difficult divorce, and have asked the kids to keep it a secret from their extended family. But as the inevitable feuds kick in, a completely unexpected turn of events involving the children causes further tensions to rise to the surface. P&P 200: Why you should watch Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice film adaptation...

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice 200 celebration continues...
There's something magical about this Pride & Prejudice (2005) film that no matter how many times we've seen 8 years since its wide release (November 23, 2005) here in the just never gets old (at least for me, it never did). There's always something new to discover in every viewing that you failed to noticed in your previous ones. I know I must have seen this film probably about a million times now or so (since 2005) and whenever I watch this movie, I'm always immersed by Elizabeth & Darcy's classic love story (or rather always distracted by the sight of a certain gentleman, whom we love and admire most ardently <3 ). ;-)  So, there's always scenes that I may have missed and I'm always amazed at discovering them for the first time like I've never seen them before. One of those interesting moments that I never noticed before (in the countless times I've seen …

Based on the 2009 investigative book by BBC correspondent Martin Sixsmith, The Lost Child of Philomena Lee, this film focuses on the efforts of Philomena Lee (Judi Dench), mother to a boy conceived out of wedlock — something Philomena’s Irish-Catholic community didn’t have the highest opinion of — and given away for adoption in the United States. Following church doctrine, she was forced to sign a contract that wouldn’t allow for any sort of inquiry into her son’s whereabouts. After starting a family years later in England and, for the most part, moving on with her life, Philomena meets Sixsmith (Steve Coogan), a BBC reporter with whom she decides to track down her long-lost son.Watch trailer for Philomena here or below...
