UPDATED 11/8/13: A new Victoria Secret "Victoria" Fragrance TV Commercial features the track: Liz On Top Of The World (as the music they used on the background) from Pride & Prejudice (2005) film soundtrack. Scroll down below to see and hear the embedded video added in this post below. Plus another P&P (2005) movie reference...

It's been a while since I've posted here a P&P reference or P&P/Darcy/Elizabeth mentioned in P&P inspired books or other non-P&P books, in movies, TV showsmagazinesreviews, or celebrities mentioning Pride and Prejudice /Jane Austen.

I thought I'd update and post here more about P&Pthe most popular Jane Austen novel, the
1995  mini-seriesP&P (2005) movie or any of the P&P characters (ie. Elizabeth & Darcy) that were referenced a lot in books, magazines, movies, TV shows, reviews, etc...

Here are a few newer ones of the many references I've compiled here to share with you all, which I've actually first posted here. If you have anything new to share that I haven't posted here. Feel free
to comment and post here as well. I'd love to add them here or compile them in a new post. Thanks in advance.

Here's part 4 of P&P novel, Matthew Macfadyen's Mr. Darcy, and P&P (2005 film) References in Pop Culture...

First up, the recently published P&P inspired novel titled My Own Mr. Darcy, which was also inspired by the 2005 film and Matthew Macfadyen's Mr. Darcy. I haven't read this book yet. I would definitely love to. It's on my must-read list. I heard from those that have read this book that it's a must-read (especially if you're a P&P 2005 movie/MM's Darcy fan...or even if you're not).

My Own Mr. Darcy  by Karey White
(book cover image source: Karey White)
Book summary:
After being dragged to the 2005 movie Pride and Prejudice by her mother, sixteen-year-old Elizabeth’s life changes when Matthew Macfadyen’s Mr. Darcy appears on the screen. Lizzie falls hard and makes a promise to herself that she will settle for nothing less than her own Mr. Darcy. This ill-advised pledge threatens to ruin any chance of finding true love. During the six intervening years, she has refused to give any interested suitors a chance. They weren’t Mr. Darcy enough. Coerced by her roommate, Elizabeth agrees to give the next interested guy ten dates before she dumps him. That guy is Chad, a kind and thoughtful science teacher and swim coach. While she’s dating Chad, her dream comes true in the form of a wealthy bookstore owner named Matt Dawson, who looks and acts like her Mr. Darcy. Of course she has to follow her dream. But as Elizabeth simultaneously dates a regular guy and the dazzling Mr. Dawson, she’s forced to re-evaluate what it was she loved about Mr. Darcy in the first place.

RocknRolla (2008) - starring Gerald Butler, Mark Strong

A scene (Darcy's surprise visit to Elizabeth at the Collins' home. See image above ^) from Pride & Prejudice (2005) film was seen in Guy Ritchie's film RocknRolla starring Gerald Butler. In this action/crime thriller, P&P (2005) was the second movie Tank watched in his SUV.

More Pride & Prejudice (2005) film referenced in the following TV/Films...

'Til Death Do Us Part: Storage Unit Murder (2007) (TV Episode)
The excerpts of the novel Pride and Prejudice that are read by two charactrers in this episode are not from Jane Austen's text, but are actually from Deborah Moggach's screenplay from the 2005 film.
Be Kind Rewind (2008)
It is listed as one of the "sweded" movies.
Wild Child (2008) [Interesting Note: Working Title/Universal Pictures same production company that produced P&P 2005 movie and parent company/film distributor who distributed P&P movie internationally was the same one who produced/distributed Wild Child movie...so it made sense that they were able to referenced more from the movie including used the music].

Harriet (Georgia King) goes to the social dance dressed as Keira Knightley's character Elizabeth Bennet, she enters to a song (Dawn) from the movie, and then recites to Freddie (Alex Pettyfer) one of the lines from the movie (and pouts like KK too, lol...).

Harriet: "Mr. Darcy! ...You may only call me Mrs. Darcy when you're completely, perfectly, and incandescently happy."

"Charlotte heard Freddie saying I look exactly like Keira Knightley." - Harriet

Updated 2/6/14: CBS' new comedy series The Crazy Ones starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

"Well, tell me I'm wrong. Just say it because my affections and wishes are unchanged, but one word from you will silence me on this subject forever." (Andrew)
"That's from Pride and Prejudice." (Sydney)
"So? Jane Austen doesn't own words." (Andrew)

[Then, Andrew (towards the end of this scene) added another P&P reference...but in the book, it was actually Mr. Darcy who said the line not Mr. Bennet...]

"As Mr. Bennet told his daughter in P&P, 'I've been a selfish being all my life in practice, though not in principle.'" (Andrew)

Watch a clip of the same scene here:

UPDATED 11/8/13: A new Victoria Secret "Victoria" Fragrance TV Commercial features the track, Liz On Top Of The World (Note: they didn't mention Dario Marianelli, who composed this song, but mentioned Jean-Yves Thibaudet, who performed the track on the piano) as the music they used in the background from Pride & Prejudice (2005) film soundtrack.

Just saw this on TV today too...watch and listen to the 16 sec. clip below:

Also, just recently...

The Big Bang Theory (2007 - ???) - Season 7, Episode 4 - The Raiders Minimization
Oh, turns out Amy’s beloved Pride and Prejudice is a flawless masterpieceHe’s got too much pride, she’s got too much prejudice - it just works.”—Sheldon Cooper on Pride and Prejudice, The Big Bang Theory, The Raiders Minimization

Leonard: Why are you reading Pride and Prejudice?
Sheldon: I’ll tell you why. Amy ruined Raiders of the Lost Ark for me, so now I’m trying to find something beloved to her and ruin that.
Howard: Because her life wasn’t enough?

And last, but most certainly not least, I've seen this movie maybe once or twice some years ago when I was younger and didn't even remember that P&P novel was referenced a lot including a book cover-tie-in from the P&P 1995 mini-series...interesting.

You've Got Mail starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan
"Confession. I have read Pride and Prejudice about 200 times. I get lost in the language. Words like ‘thither’, ‘mischance’, ‘felicity’. I’m always in agony whether Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are really going to get together. Ah! Read it! I KNOW you’ll love it."- Kathleen Kelly, You’ve Got Mail.
"But you'll never forgive me. Just like Elizabeth." -Joe
"Who?" -Kathleen
"Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice. She was too proud!" -Joe
"I thought you hated Pride and Prejudice!" -Kathleen
"Or was she too prejudice and Mr. Darcy was too proud? Oh, I can't remember." -Joe
JOE: Kathleen Kelly. Hello. What a coincidence. Mind if I sit down?
KATHLEEN: Yes I do. I'm expecting someone.
JOE: Pride and Prejudice
KATHLEEN: Do you mind?
JOE: I bet you read that book every year. I bet you just love Mr. Darcy, and that your sentimental heart beats wildly at the thought that he and whatever her name is are really, honestly and truly going to end up together.
KATHLEEN: No. No, he's not staying. No. No, you are not staying.
JOE: I'll get up as soon as your friend comes. Is he late?
KATHLEEN: The heroine of Pride and Prejudice is Elizabeth Bennet and she's one of the greatest, most complex characters ever written, not that you would know.
JOE: As a matter of fact I've read it.
KATHLEEN: Well, good for you.
JOE: I think you'd discover a lot of things if you really knew me.
