The first TV spot for   Gone Girl  starring  Rosamund Pike   &  Ben Affleck  aired on TV last night during commercials of the Emmys 2014 telecast. Rosamund 's character Amy Dunne seems a bit of a mystery, but she reveals a very interesting inspiration for her character:  Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy , the late JFK Jr's late wife. “There’s not much out there about her. You never heard her speak,” Pike told  EW . “You just see those pictures of her hiding her face. The way she moved—I used quite a lot of that body language and mood. She’s the dream girl. That’s what Amy was for Nick. She’s the one you can’t get out of your head because she’s perfect.” Gone Girl opens in wide U.S theater release October 3rd ! Available now on DVD, Blu-ray, Digital HD, and VOD is  Belle  ( Penelope Wilton   co-stars   as  Lady Mary Murray ), which opened in U.S. Theaters early last May. A must-see and most definitely worth-watching. I saw it and loved it. Today ( August 25th ), is Pride & Prejudice 's own brilliant director Joe Wright 's 42nd Birthday ! I found out 2 years ago that his birthday's today and he shares the same birthday as Tom Hollander ! They've worked together 3 times in 3 ( Pride & Prejudice , The Soloist , and Hanna ) of his 5 feature films . He's currently filming and directing  Pan  (Warner Bros. Picures) starring Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara, Garrett Hedlum, and Amanda Seyfried, and is slated in theaters July 17, 2015 .

Today ( August 25th ) is Tom Hollander (aka P&P 's Mr. Collins )'s 47th birthday !  He shares the same birthday as director Joe Wright , whom he'd worked with in 3 films : Pride & Prejudice (2005), The Soloist (2009), and Hanna (2011). New promotional stills for  Season 5 of  Downton Abbey  ( Penelope Wilton  co-star as  Isobel Crawley ) has just been released. Fox Searchlight just released today the first trailer to The Second Best Marigold Hotel . The cast from the 2011 film has reunited for the follow-up including  Judi Dench , ( Evelyn ), Maggie Smith (Muriel), Bill Nighy (Douglas), Dev Patel (Sonny), Celia Imrie (Madge), Ronald Pickup (Norman),  Penelope Wilton  ( Jean ), Diana Hardcastle (Carol), Tena Desae (Sunaina) and Lillete Dubey (Mrs. Kapoor). Making their debut in the sequel are Richard Gere, David Strathairn and Tamsin Greig. This is the first ever sequel made by Fox Searchlight, and the rare adult-themed prestige film to get an encore. The first film was a surprise global hit which grossed $135 million worldwide. The sequel was directed by  John Madden  and written by  Ol Parker . The film hits theaters on March 6th, 2015 . After yesterday's news about Pride and Prejudice and Zombies movie moving forward and finally going into production , another Jane Austen related film project that's been in development since 2011 that the late Screenwriter/Director Nora Ephron was working on, writing the script and was supposed to be directing the film , but unfortunately, she passed away in 2012. The unfinished script and project has been on hold after the news of Ephron's death, but now it looks like it's back on as “Portlandia” star and co-creator  Carrie Brownstein  has come on board to write   Lost in Austen   movie, based on the original 2008 U.K. ITV series, according to  Variety . The first trailer was hilarious, but not much Rosamund Pike on it. Now, a new  trailer #2  for the upcoming romantic-comedy film, What We Did On Our Holiday starring Rosamund Pike   and  David Tennant has been released (via Lionsgate Films UK) along with another new poster (see above) and Miss Pike appears a little more with her name first on credits in both trailers and posters.
