Edinburgh: Judi Dench & More Join Benedict Cumberbatch In BBC Two’s ‘Richard III’ via Deadline
BBC Two is working on three filmed adaptations of Shakespeare’s History plays that include Richard III and Henry VI in two parts. In April, Benedict Cumberbatch joined Richard III and today BBC Two confirms that Judi Dench will play Cecily, Duchess of York, alongside his titular king

Judi Dench and Tom Hollander reunites in Tulip Fever film
Speaking of Judi Dench, she and former P&P co-star Tom Hollander are co-starring in an upcoming film titled Tulip Fever, which was adapted from Pride & Prejudice 2005's screenwriter Deborah Moggach's novel of the same title. Keira Knightley was previously attached to star in this movie before she was cast as Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice movie, but the film was cancelled just when it was about to start filming...
“Pride and Prejudice” is due to start shooting on July 19th. Strangely enough, Kiera Knightley is starring in that, too (she’s one of the Tulip Fever stars). via Deborah Moggach's news archive on her website
Deborah Moggach herself said this on her website news archive dated January 2004...
Despite being just about to shoot, the film of Tulip Fever has been cancelled due to the surprise move of the Inland Revenue to close a tax loophole used by film financiers. This literally happened overnight, costing scores of jobs and the loss of 12,000 rare tulips specially planted to flower during filming (somehow this was the worst thing of all). Such a waste of all that effort – six years of it – and talent (Jude Law was to star, Tom Stoppard had written the screenplay, John Madden was to direct it…) Too depressing for words. Still, the novel will always be there, and maybe they can rescue the film at a later date. “Pride and Prejudice” should also be shooting this summer. Working Title are producing it. No idea about cast at this stage. Read more.
Also, according to Deborah Moggach's recent post about the filming of Tulip Fever on her website, after nearly 20 years, the film is finally happening and has wrapped filming earlier this month in the UK. It's slated for a 2015 theatrical release.
The cast includes Judi Dench, Tom Hollander, Christoph Waltz (as Cornelis) and Alicia Vikander and Dane deHaan as the young lovers. Willem and Maria are played by Jack O’Connell and Holliday Grainger. I had a tiny part as Card Player No 2. It was strange and wonderful to be dressed up in costume and step into my own story, with props guys filling my clay pipe and a parrot wrangler feeding peanuts to a tame macaw.  The whole film looks like a Vermeer painting come to life, but it’s also terrifically earthy and funny. And nail-bitingly, tumultuously dramatic.  I think it’s going to be a bit of a hit. Read more here.
Recently, Tulip Fever wraps filming in UK...
The book was Moggach’s first historical novel, and she has described is as her “love-letter to Dutch painting and that lost world of serene and dreamy domestic interiors.”The film, which was in gestation for around ten years, but finally made with the backing of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, used some beautiful locations for filming including Norwich Cathedral, Holkham (north Norfolk) Kentwell Hall (Essex).

A publicity still released this week hit the headlines when a plastic water bottle was spotted in the corner of the picture. The official photograph of The Earl and Lady Edith was cropped and used during the launch of the new season, but it was when an un-cropped version of the image worked its way onto the internet that it sparked a global press frenzy.
