In US Theaters 7 Years Ago Today: Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen

Seven Years ago today (November 11th), the 6-time BAFTA (including a WIN for director Joe Wright, which he won the Carl Foreman Award for the Most Promising Newcomer and a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Brenda Blethyn), 2-time Golden Globes (including Best Actress nomination for Keira Knightley), and 4-time Oscar nominated film (including Best Actress in a Leading Role nomination for Keira Knightley). Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen made its US theatrical debut in select cities (NY and LA). Two months before, it made its UK Cinema debut and debuted at #1 on its first opening weekend, and according to Box Office Mojo, P&P movie opened strong with £2,529,947 (on 397 screens). Its production budget was reportedly $28 million (estimated). Two months later it opened in the U.S. theaters, November 11th, with a limited release and made $2,865,017 (USA) on its opening weekend (#10 rank, 215 theaters, $13, 325 average). Then, it expanded to a nationwide US theatrical release later on at the same month (November 23rd) with an impressive $7,158,119 (#7, rank, 1, 299 theaters, $5,510 average).

To celebrate its 7th year anniversary (In Select US Theaters | November release) of this amazing film here at the P&P Blog, I thought I'd post all about it here as well as post some P&P related things all this month to look back on this awesome and brilliant film and its continued successes, 7 years later.
Also, I am posting here all the P&P related links (I have posted since I started blogging about P&P movie over 5 years ago...) for you to check out (if you haven't already done so)

But first, check out the following...

When Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley) meets the handsome Mr. Darcy (Matthew Macfadyen), she believes he is the last man on earth she could marry. But as their lives become intertwined in an unexpected adventure, she finds herself captivated by the very person she swore to loathe for all eternity.Based on the beloved masterpiece by Jane Austen, it is the classic tale of love and misunderstanding that sparkles with romance, wit and emotional force. Critics are calling it "Exhilarating. A joy from start to finish." (Carina Chocano, Los Angeles Times)
