The 6-time Emmy Award winner (including Outstanding Drama , Outstanding Lead Actress for Claire Danes , and Outstanding Lead Actor for Damian Lewis ) Homeland (Season 2) - premieres tonight at 10 PM ET/PT on Showtime . Rupert Friend has joined the ensemble cast of Claire Danes , Damain Lewis , and Mandy Patinkin recently and will be a regular in the second season of this Emmy award winning series. Season two is expected to debut in the UK in October.  UPDATED 10/1/12 : Season 2 Episodes of Homeland is available for streaming on its official website here . Variety reports that Stephen Frears ( The Queen ) is set to direct  Judi Dench and Steve Coogan in Philomena .  Based on a true story , the film centers on Philomena Lee ( Judi Dench ), an Irish woman seeking the illegitimate son she was forced to put up for adoption . Two short films (starring Pride & Prejudice actors) opening in theaters through Stars in Shorts this month, starting today ! Go see these short films, if these are available in your local theaters! Why see them? As previously posted here , Matthew Macfadyen is said to be attending two event ( RomaFictionFest 2012 and  MIPCOM 2012 ) in early October to promote his upcoming eight part drama series Ripper Street ( BBC One and BBC America ), which was originally planned for an October airing simultaneously in both BBC One and BBC America, but still no actual air dates for October, which is almost here, on either BBC One or BBC America...odd. Are they still even airing this in October? There isn't even a full trailer just a teaser here . Matthew already started the promo for it at Screening Q&A for Ripper Street at BAFTA Guro this past Monday. Today ( Sept. 26 ) is Talulah Riley 's (aka Mary Bennet of Pride & Prejudice 2005 film ) 27th birthday . Miss Riley was born in Hertfordshire , England (UK) 27 years ago today. After its U.S. theatrical released date has been pushed back from late December 2012 to Summer 2013 (It was originally set to open on Christmas Day and was bound to compete in the 2012 awards race, but Warner Bros. has decided to push this film back to summer 2013 with no date specified),  now, there's a new release date for The Great Gatsby (in 3D !) film starring Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan with Joel Edgerton as Tom Buchanan and Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby . Another movie casting news and another film that Rosamund Pike has joined! She was recently cast in these films: Hector and the Search for Happiness , a dramedy, in addition to The World's End . Summer's over! Yep, you know what that means, right? New TV series/returning shows and movies to look forward to from our favorite P&P actors! Here's my annual list of some P&P '05 alumni with a new movie and TV series or mini-series starting this month through December of 2012 (as well as a few upcoming films to see in 2013!). What's interesting though is that Entertainment Weekly has also featured the following films: Flight , Skyfall , Anna Karenina , and Jack Reacher in their annual Fall Movies We Can't Wait To See for this year! The first still of Rosamund Pike (see above) as Helen Rodin , a defense attorney in her upcoming film Jack Reacher (with Tom Cruise ) was released today via the film's twitter page . The image features a first look of Rosamund with Tom Cruise along with Jack Reacher crime series author Lee Child , who appears in the background (in a cameo) as a cop. Rosamund Pike , as aforementioned, plays the role of Helen Rodin who joins and teams up with badass Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) to investigate a shooting after the accused man pleads innocence and calls on Reacher for help.  Rodin must square off against her father (Richard Jenkins), the district attorney of Indianapolis, to defend the accused.
