Focus Features released Thursday the second trailer to director Joe Wright 's new historical period drama  Darkest Hour  (scripted by Anthony McCarten of The Theory of Everything) starring Gary Oldman , Kristin Scott Thomas , and Lily James . Also, two new poster s and still s (via Focus Features...see them below!) for this film has been released as well. Darkest Hour opens in select US Theaters  November 22nd ! According to the rock band Queen's official twitter account , Tom Hollander has joined the cast of the upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody , which is being directed by Bryan Singer. Tom will play Jim Beach who took over as manager from John Reid in 1978 and stayed on for years. Production has already started with a slated Christmas Day 2018 release. Tamzin Merchant has joined the cast (she joins previously cast Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne) of Amazon 's fantasy drama Carnival Row , which is an 8-episode straight-to-series . The Weinstein Company just released the first trailer to The Current War starring Benedict Cumberbatch ( The Imitation Game ), Matthew Macfadyen , Katherine Waterson ( Fant astic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Tom Holland ( Spider-Man: Homecoming ), and Tuppence Middleton ( The Imitation Game ). Alfonso Gomez Rejon ( Me and Earl and the Dying Girl ) directs The Current War , which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this Saturday, September 9 , and enters select theaters on November 24th , before a wider release follows in the UK on January 4 and in the US on January 19 . The first trailer for Carey Mulligan 's upcoming Netflix film Mudbound , premiered to great acclaim and early Oscar buzz at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival last January. The drama is directed by Dee Rees ( Pariah , Bessie ) and stars Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Jason Mitchell, Mary J. Blige, Rob Morgan, Jonathan Banks and Garrett Hedlund. Mudbound screens this week at the Toronto International Film Festival, the first of many stops on the awards season trail. A teaser trailer has just been released (via Deadline) for Rosamund Pike 's upcoming film Hostiles starring Christian Bale and Pike (as Rosalie Quaid , who lost her entire family to a vicious Indian attack). The film is currently playing at Telluride Film Festival and is a much buzzed about film (even without a film distributor).
