BBC America has just released a new still of Matthew Macfadyen and has finally revealed his character in the upcoming   8-part drama series  The Last Kingdom .  It will premiere on Saturday , October 10th at 10 PM ET/9c. The Last Kingdom is an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s best-selling series of novels “The Saxon Stories”, by award-winning writer Stephen Butchard, and will premiere later this year on BBC AMERICA. A new movie poster (see above) and promo video clip has been released Wednesday by Focus Features during Women's Equality Day (August 26th) for Suffragette starring Carey Mulligan , Meryl Streep , and  Helena Bonham Carter , lead the cast of the powerful drama about the fight for equality in early-20th-century Britain. The Season 5 trailer has just been released for Showtime's Emmy Award winning series  Homeland , which premieres on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 at 9 p.m. EST. Emmy Award nominee   Rupert Friend  ( Outstanding Guest Actor  for  Homeland ) returns in his third regular season as agent Peter Quinn .   Homeland  starring  Claire Danes , Mandy Patinkin , and  Rupert Friend . Today ( August 25th ), is Pride & Prejudice 's own brilliant director Joe Wright 's 43rd Birthday ! I found out a few years ago that his birthday's today and he shares the same birthday as Tom Hollander ! They've worked together 3 times in 3 ( Pride & Prejudice , The Soloist , and Hanna ) of his 5 feature films . He directed and completed the upcoming  Pan  (Warner Bros. Picures) film starring Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara, Garrett Hedlum, and Amanda Seyfried, and is slated in theaters October 9 , 2015 .

Today ( August 25th ) is Tom Hollander (aka P&P 's Mr. Collins )'s 48th birthday !  He shares the same birthday as director Joe Wright , whom he'd worked with in 3 films : Pride & Prejudice (2005), The Soloist (2009), and Hanna (2011). I previously posted here several production stills for  Matthew Macfadyen 's upcoming new film, The Trapp Family: A Life of Music and just yesterday the official German trailer has been released by Concorde Movie Lounge . The trailer looks great especially the cinematography. It looks visually stunning. MM looks great too! Unfortunately, the trailer is dubbed in German. I can't wait to see the U.S. trailer! The German website for this movie is now up with a German Cinema release date slated for November 12th . Lionsgate has acquired its US/Canada and UK distribution rights with a plan for a Christmas 2015 theatrical release . BBC America just released the full trailer for the upcoming   8-part drama series  The Last Kingdom   starring  Matthew Macfadyen .  It will premiere on Saturday , October 10th at 10 PM ET/9c. With the full trailer already out and its 2 months away premiere, it's interesting that  Matthew 's character for this drama is still unknown. Hopefully, we'll find out what character he's playing before the series premiere. Summer  2015  is over (for some and almost over for others)! You know what that means, right? Carnival Films and ITV launched the final Season 6 of Downton Abbey   ( Penelope Wilton co-star as Isobel Crawley ) yesterday with a press launch in London, where journalists were treated to an exclusive screening of the first episode , followed by a series of Q&A ’s with Executive Producers Gareth Neame , Julian Fellowes and Liz Trubridge , along with cast members including Maggie Smith , Hugh Bonneville and Joanne Froggatt . Last Saturday ( August 8th ) night and early Sunday ( August 9th ) morning, there was another back-to-back (as always) airing of Joe Wright 's 2005 Pride & Prejudice movie starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen on TV, this time on Bravo channel. I'm a day late in posting this here, but better late than never, right? I previously posted part 5 , part 4 and part 3 . Then, I posted part 2 of this when it aired back-to-back on Bravo and had first  posted about this last May 24th , when it aired twice in a row on Oxygen. I guess this will be a series of posts whenever this movie is broadcast on TV (but of course, it depends, If and when I get a chance to see and live tweet it). Saturday night, I watched and actively live tweeted  on both airings of the movie because I was home and it started at 9:10 pm and encore followed soon after at 11:50 pm (until 2:30 am Sunday morning...). Several new stills for  Matthew Macfadyen 's upcoming new film, The Trapp Family: A Life of Music has been released via German Films Quarterly . Matthew as Captain Georg von Trapp , the patriarch of the von Trapp family is featured in some of the new stills (above and below). According to The Hollywood Reporter ,  Rosamund Pike   has joined Mad Men's Jon Hamm in the upcoming political action thriller High Wire Act. With the film aiming for a January 2016 start, Rosamund will play  a CIA field agent working undercover at the American embassy who’s tasked with keeping the diplomat alive and ensuring the mission is a success. As I previously posted here last year  (October 2014),  Jena Malone   was rumored to be appearing, possibly in a cameo, for a mystery role in   Zack Snyder 's (director of her Sucker Punch film)  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice  (starring Henry Cavill , Amy Adams , and Ben Affleck ) film, which will be opening in US Theaters nationwide early next year, March 25th, 2016 . The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Jena was, indeed, in Batman V Superman , but it’s unknown whether she’s playing a female Robin or a different character. Malone has been seen on set last summer, but the visit was originally attributed to visiting her  Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder. Then, two weeks later, Jena   posted a photo  on her Instagram of her hair newly dyed red, a color similar to Carrie Kelley’s, the female Robin from The Dark Knight Returns . Now, various rumors and media reports says Jena is playing the following role for BvS (watch the film's Comic-Con trailer below!)...

New posters  (including one above) and several new stills has been released  (via Bloody Disgusting ) for the upcoming psychological thriller  Return To Sender  starring  Rosamund Pike ,  Shiloh Fernandez ,  Nick Nolte ,  Rumer Willis ,  Camryn Manheim ,  Illeana Douglas , and  Scout Taylor-Compton . Last May, the  trailer  has been released and  Image Entertainment has acquired the U.S. distribution rights  for the film. It is set for a  U.S. Theater release  and  VOD  (video on demand) on  August 14th ! In  Return To Sender ,  Rosamund  stars as  Miranda , a small town nurse who gets attacked during a home invasion by a mysterious stranger (Shiloh Fernandez).
