Period Dramas in Films starring Pride & Prejudice actors (Part I)
Have you ever seen a period movie where you kept wondering about a familiar actor starring in that period drama and thought you had seen him or her before, but you just can't remember nor recognized the actor from where or which other movie you've seen seen him or her before?
If your answer is yes to the question above...well, you're not the only one. I know I have and sure enough, I've found out, not only that he or she looked familiar, but I've also seen him/her in Pride & Prejudice (2005) movie. Of course, it started way back in 2005 when I just saw the amazing ensemble cast of Joe Wright's P&P movie. It was interesting that I hadn't noticed before that I've seen at least some of them in other movies, but didn't know nor put the two and two together because I didn't know who they were nor was I familiar with their faces (with the exceptions of the well-known ones such as Keira Knightley, Jena Malone, Judi Dench, Brenda Blethyn, and Donald Sutherland...the rest of the P&P cast, like Matthew Macfadyen, Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, Tom Hollander, Kelly Reilly, and Rupert Friend, to name some...I've never heard of nor seen them) before seeing them in P&P. After seeing them in P&P and I saw some of those movies again, I was like...wow, I didn't know he or she was in that movie! Also, even when I was already familiar with all the cast from P&P movie, I've seen other movies where I didn't know they were on it, but then, I started watching (mostly on Netflix and my DVD collection) noticing that they appeared on those films too. I love the P&P (2005) cast and I loved watching them in other movies too as much as I've enjoyed watching them in P&P movie (though I will always love watching them more in P&P as they were all co-starring in that movie).
Here's a list (sans P&P movie as this blog already pretty much covered it) I've compiled here of period films (starring/co-starring the 2005 P&P actors) in random order...
The following P&P (2005) actors are: Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen, Rosamund Pike, Jena Malone, Carey Mulligan, Rupert Friend, Brenda Blethyn, Donald Sutherland, Judi Dench, Tom Hollander, Simon Woods, Kelly Reilly, Claudie Blakley, Tamzin Merchant, Penelope Wilton, Peter Wight, Pip Torrens (Netherfield Butler) and P&P director Joe Wright
That's all here from period dramas in films. I think I've listed them all...though If I forgot something, please let me know in the comment section and I'll update the list here in this post. Thanks.
Update: SeeStay tune for my next post, Period Dramas on TV starring Pride & Prejudice Actors (Part II) coming soon!

I love your blog! Congrats :) you forgot Wives and Daughters- Tom Hollander and Rosamund Pike
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I didn't forget about Wives and Daughters. That's actually a TV Mini-series, not a feature film (which this post are mostly about "period dramas in films" as the title stated), so it'll be in the next post titled "Period Dramas on TV," which will be posted very soon.:)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thanks for your kind words about the blog. I appreciate. :)
