P&P 200: The Many Faces of Elizabeth Bennet & Fitzwilliam Darcy (Part 4)

And one more update on The Many Faces of Elizabeth Bennet & Fitzwilliam Darcy in continuing with the 200th anniversary celebration of Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice novel, which has been going on since the beginning of this year (last January 28th) and the upcoming holiday premiere of a new P&P homage/inspired of TV adaptation (of PD James' best-selling murder mystery novel of the same name) Death Comes to Pemberley starring Matthew Rhys (as Mr. Darcy) and Anna Maxwell Martin (as Elizabeth Darcy...née Bennet) (which premieres on BBC One in the UK this Christmas in 3 consecutive nights from December 26-28) 2013 and also set for a PBS Masterpiece premiere in 2014. No broadcast dates has been announced yet...). So, I've created a new post here and updated the old post.

Several actors have portrayed the most popular fictional couple Elizabeth Bennet & Fitzwilliam Darcy (aka Mr. Darcy) in Jane Austen's classic novel Pride and Prejudice, who's celebrating its 200th anniversary this month (on Monday, January 28th!), which has been adapted countless times from Stage (1936)/Broadway (First Impression 1959), TV mini-series (1938, 1952, 1967, 1980, and 1995), and films (1940, 1958, and 2005, as well as inspired P&P films such as Pride and Prejudice: A Latter-Day Comedy 2003, Bride & Prejudice 2004, Death Comes To Pemberley, and Bridget Jones movies to name a few) numerous times since 1936 (stage version) to the 2005 Oscar nominated film version starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen.

I'm sure many of you P&P fans have seen at least 1 or 2 versions of P&P. I can say now that I've seen at least 9 (1940, 1980, 1995, 2003, B&P 2004, 2005, Lost In Austen, A Modern P&P, and The Lizzie Bennet Diaries) of them. Of course, the 2005 version (with Keira & Matthew) is my all-time favorite P&P film adaptation of all P&P versions. It was the BEST P&P version I've ever seen (and have seen several times than I care to count, lol), in my humble opinion. It made me love and finished reading the original novel, both Keira Knightley as an actress and Matthew Macfadyen as an actor (as well as the rest of P&P 05 cast), and the reason I created my own P&P Fan Forum, Devoted Fans of P&P on FB, Tumblr, Pinterest, and this P&P Blog here, of course.

Anyway, here are some images from various P&P adaptations (including the 4 notable tv/film versions that most of us had either seen or heard about and are universally acknowledged) that I could find through google image searches on the web...
