Carey Mulligan awarded CBE honor by King Charles at Windsor Castle!


Carey Mulligan is made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by King Charles III today (March 31, 2025) at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, Berkshire. The honor recognises her services to drama.

Back in 2018, Carey’s P&P’s co-star Keira Knightley was awarded an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours for her services to drama and charity. She received the award from then, Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace (December 2018).

Other P&P 2005 actors presented with OBE and DBE (Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire) honours are: Dame Judi Dench in 1988 as well as an OBE in 1970 and member of the order of companions honours (CH) in 2005; Brenda Blethyn with an OBE in her service in Drama in the 2003 New Year Honours; and Dame Penelope Wilton was presented an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2004 for her service to the Dramatic Arts and then elevated to a Dame Commander (DBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honors in 2016.
