Movie News: Matthew Macfadyen and Colin Firth to co-star in 'The Promise Land'

Double Darcy alert! 

No, not in another P&P movie, lol...

Variety and Hollywood Reporter both reported that P&P Actors (2005 and 1995's Mr. Darcys)  Matthew Macfadyen and are co-starring in a new film titled, The Promise Land.

Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen have boarded Michael Winterbottom's "The Promised Land."

The thesps join Jim Sturgess for the project, which recounts the months leading up to the 1948 partition of Palestine and the subsequent creation of the state of Israel.

Pic is bound to raise eyebrows on both sides of the divide with its depiction of Jewish militant groups launching terror attacks against British forces and Palestinian civilians during their campaign for statehood.

The $5 million project, which is set to start lensing on location in the summer, will be produced by Winterbottom's partner Andrew Eaton through their Revolution Films shingle. Fortissimo Films will handle worldwide sales.

How cool is this? I've always wondered if these two will ever co-star someday...and looks like someday is now or rather this year next year (2011), lol. Keira Knightley has already co-starred with Colin in Love Actually. Other P&P '05 actors such as Talulah Riley (St. Trinians 1 and II),  Carey Mulligan (When Did You Last See Your Father?), and  Rupert Friend (The Last Legion). Now, Matthew is the latest P&P '05 actor he's co-starring with. Basically, Colin has just about co-starred with everyone (see Six Degrees of Colin Firth...scroll down to the bottom of the page for it!)...so it's really not surprising that he is co-starring with MM, but it's exciting nevertheless. Besides, two fan favorite Darcys in one movie...is definitely better than one...sounds like that Taylor Swift song, "Two is Better than One," haha!
