As I've previously posted here last year,
Variety reported that Fox 2000 has set an
October 4, 2019 theatrical release date schedule for
Joe Wright's next film project, a psychological thriller titled
The Woman in the Window starring 5-time Oscar Nominee
Amy Adams (who co-starred with
Jena Malone in films like
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice {The Ultimate Edition} and
Nocturnal Animals) in the lead role as
Dr. Anna Fox. But now the film has been delayed (by Disney) with a new theatrical release date:
May 15, 2020. It is said to be due to Disney's recent purchase of its distributor Fox 2000, as well as reported news of re-tooling it with re-shoots of 5 days will be done for this film (scheduled this month after Adams' finishes her other film she was currently filming) after test screenings revealed it confused audiences (
Read more info. about it here via THR).
See a promo poster (via IMDB with its old October 4th release date) of the movie as well as a still (or bts) of Amy Adams as Dr. Anna Fox below...
Aside from Amy Adams, the thriller also stars
Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, and
Brian Tyree Henry.
Woman in the Window, based on the A.J. Finn novel of the same,
follows an agoraphobic woman living alone in New York who begins spying
on her new neighbors, only to witness a disturbing act of violence.
Scott Rudin and Eli Bush are producing. Tracy Letts wrote the script for the adaptation.
