Synopsis:
In Victorian London, puritanical doctors prescribe abstinence to a young couple after the life-threatening birth of their daughter. Sexual repression leads to obsession and opens the door to paranormal phenomena in this psychosexual Gothic drama.
ANGELICA is a Gothic tale of a newly married couple living in Victorian London who endure a series of increasingly alarming psychological and supernatural effects following the birth of their child.
The film is written and directed by Mitchell Lichtenstein and stars Jena Malone (The Hunger Games, Contact), two-time Academy Award nominee Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs, Tumbleweeds), and Ed Stoppard (The Pianist). Produced by Joyce Pierpoline (Teeth), the film is based on the novel by Arthur Phillips with the same name.
