In Theaters Today: Brothers

Carey Mulligan's new film Brothers (the last one of her 3 movies including her critically acclaimed leading role in An Education, in theatrical releases this year) opens in U.S. theaters nationwide today! Carey has a small supporting role in this film as one of the army/military wives named Cassie Willis (and wow, I just noticed that her character's husband is played by The 4400 hottie, Patrick Flueger. See his photo in his imdb profile or click his name for the link. He and Carey make an interesting, good-looking pair. A lil' off-topic here, I liked his The 4400 show a lot, which reminded me of one of my other favorite superheroes series, Heroes...and have been watching it on its season 1-2 dvds, which I've recently added to my ever growing dvd collection, lol. Just got Season 3 dvd and have yet to see it. He was pretty good in that series as Shawn Farrell, one of the regular characters. Too bad, the show was canceled... without a proper ending too) who is married to Patrick Flueger's Private Joe Willis

Speaking of Carey's character Cassie, who's married to Private Joe Willis (Flueger)...here's a slight spoilers, she mentioned him in the Brothers' clip below with Natalie Portman's character Grace Cahill, who's in love-triangle with her husband Capt. Sam Cahill (Maguire) and Tommy Cahill (Gyllenhaal).

  1. I thought 'Brothers' was amazing all around, great storytelling in particular - the director went from one point to the next without messing around

  2. I planned to see this with friends sometime early next week.

Btw, looks like this film will do well in this weekend's Box Office gross. It'll probably make the top 3 when the estimates are released later today. Friday alone it already made $3.5M.
