Netflix gets “Pride” another Pride and Prejudice retelling to be in development as a movie!

While Pride and Prejudice/Austen fandom had been reacting strongly negative to a rumored Netflix P&P series in development, there’s yet another new P&P retelling on its early development titled “Pride” from Alloy Entertainment and The Obama’s Higher Ground Productions producing!

Meanwhile, whatever happened to “Netherfield Girls”?! This was the first contemporary P&P adaptation, a Netflix romcom movie that was announced as in development back in 2021 with “Never Have I Ever” star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan reportedly cast as Lizzie Bennet. Currently, there’s no new update on this one.

Since we’re at it with these recent news of P&P TV & Film adaptations in the works, here’s a list of currently in development (including those in development for years now)…

Work on the project was halted by Ephron’s sad death in June 2012, but in 2014 it was announced Portlandia co-creator Carrie Brownstein will now finish her script.
