Mr. Darcy bust from Pride & Prejudice 2005 film

I previously posted about this here in 2015. I'm posting about this again here because guess what???!!! I finally have my very own miniature replica of the Darcy bust (yes, I finally bought one, which was actually my own birthday treat for myself)!!! I was going to share this here on my recent birthday (last April 9th), but it didn't arrived until almost a week later, lol. So, I thought I'd wait (when I actually received the delivery package from the UK) to post it here. Not too mention, I've been super busy lately that I've been unable to post about this until now. Also, I had to take a few photos and video to show and share it with you all here and to include more info. on where you can buy it for yourself (if you're interested in owning one, of course, which I highly recommend you do. It's a MUST buy and worth owning to add to your P&P movie collection or to gift someone you know who's also a big P&P movie/Darcy fan for a birthday or Christmas gift). I get ask a lot on where you can purchase this and I've posted here before that you can buy it in person if you ever visit Chatsworth House (in Bakewell, Derbyshire) at Chatsworth's Orangery gift shop. Though it's quite interesting that Chatsworth still don't have an online version of their gift shop for you to order this, but fortunately, there's another shop (I think they made it for Chatsworth too as it has the Chatsworth copyright printed in the back of the bust) that you can buy and order your very own mini Darcy bust at Marble Sculpture by Sculptured Arts Studio. You can order this at either their website or at their Etsy shop (which I did, since I live in the U.S. and it's easier for me to purchase it from there).

Mr. Darcy's Bust for sale at Chatsworth?! (Updated)

Well, not exactly the actual Darcy bust, which we've all seen in Pride & Prejudice (2005) movie, but according to Darcylicious, a scaled versions of the famous Mr. Darcy bust that was shown in the 2005 movie Pride & Prejudice are now on sale at the Chatsworth Gift Shop. This will make a great birthday or Christmas present! I most definitely would love to get one of this for my own to add to my P&P movie collection...hopefully, soon!

There is no online version of the Chatsworth gift shop from which you can order the bust, but you can order it online thru the following shop:

Update #2 - 9/11/15: Just got this info. today, according to  (who just purchased and received her Darcy bust replica. See her photo below! Thanks Regina!):

This is the gentleman to contact for the Darcy bust: Martin Greening (email him at sales@marble-sculpture.com).  It was 50 pounds + shipping to the U.S. (about $130). The bust is an exact copy reduced down from the life size original used in the film. There's a contact form on his website, and he responds quickly to the message.

Pride and Prejudice
(via Chatsworth)


In Pride and Prejudice, Chatsworth was used as Pemberley, the residence of Mr. Darcy. It is believed that Jane Austen actually based her idea of Pemberley on Chatsworth House as she wrote the novel while in Bakewell.

"The eye was instantly caught by Pemberley House, situated on the opposite side of the valley into which the road into some abruptness wound."

"It was a large, handsome, stone building standing well on rising ground, and backed by a ridge of high woody hills; and in front, a stream of some natural importance was swelled into greater, but without any artificial appearance. Its banks were neither formal, nor falsely adorned."

Chatsworth was also mentioned in the novel as one of the estates Elizabeth Bennet visits before arriving at Pemberley.

On your visit you may recognise the grand staircase and ceiling of the Painted Hall where Lizzie and the Gardiners start their tour of Pemberley. The Sculpture Gallery was used in the scene where Lizzie Bennet sees the bust of Mr. Darcy, and his housekeeper describes his many good qualities. On your visit you will also recognize the beautiful veiled Vestal Virgin sculpture from the same scene. The scene in the Sculpture Gallery was originally set to be in a gallery of paintings, but the scene was changed to make use of Chatsworth's collection.

As a souvenir from the filming, we still have the bust of Mr. Darcy, played by Matthew Macfadyen. The bust is made of resin mixed with marble dust and was created by Nick Dutton in 2004 as a prop for the film. It can be found in the Orangery shop, through the Sculpture Gallery.
