Atonement premieres at 2007 Toronto & Venice Film Festivals
Just announced in a recent press release, from the official site of the Toronto International Film Festival:
Atonement, just like KK's other film Silk, will also make it at the Toronto International Film Festival this year as one of the special presentations:
ATONEMENT Joe Wright, UK
Based on the award-winning novel by Ian McEwan, ATONEMENT reunites director Joe Wright (PRIDE AND PREJUDICE) and actor Keira Knightley for another classic British romance – one that spans several decades. Thirteen-year-old fledgling writer Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan) irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses Robbie Turner (James McAvoy of THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND), the man who loves her older sister Cecilia (Knightley), of a crime he did not commit. The film's cast includes Romola Garai and Vanessa Redgrave.
Also, Atonement will be one of 22 movies shortlisted for the coveted Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival.
Venice Film Fest will run Aug. 29-Sept 8.
