Talulah Riley's Summer House an iTunes smash; Keira Knightley and Rupert Friend's short film to be released on iTunes Sept 21st

According to NY dBusiness News, the iTunes release (last July 13) of The Summer House, starring P&P's Talulah Riley and Twilight star Robert Pattinson, has debuted at number one in 4 territories.
Within hours of it hitting the iTunes Movie Store, the film had already topped movie sales charts in the US, Canada, Ireland and Germany, fending off competition from key blockbusters like Avatar and Green Zone.

“Audiences have spoken. Short movies rock!” said Carter Pilcher, CEO of Shorts International. “As The Summer House’s record-breaking dominance atop the movie chart demonstrates, short movies are the entertainment sweet spot for fans who are shifting to shorter, sharper bursts of entertainment.”
Also, speaking of short films and iTunes, Talulah's [former] Pride & Prejudice co-stars, real-life couple Keira Knightley & Rupert Friend's own short film, The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of The Suicide Brothers, which Rupert co-wrote (and co-produced) with his other co-star and friend Tom Mison (Lost In Auten's Mr. Bingley) will be released on iTunes exclusively in September!

The same article from NY dBusiness News mentioned that...
Shorts International will release The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers starring Rupert Friend (The Young Victoria) and Keira Knightley (Never Let Me Go) on 21 September, exclusively on iTunes.

Check out and watch new Jena Malone interviews from this past weekend's 2010 Comic-Con. Jena's very cool and funny in these interviews. Inception tops U.S. box-office again with $43.5 Million

Another great weekend for Talulah Riley's new film Inception, which she co-starred with Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to name a few (and has a very small role as Blonde) is #1 again with an estimated $43.5 million (final total will be released on Monday afternoon) at this weekend's box-office beating the opening of Angelina Jolie's new released film, "Salt," which opened to a strong but $7 million below last week's #1, Inception, retaining its #1 title and lead. Inception also made an impressive $13 million last Friday, while Salt made $12 M. Inception, according to Box Office Mojo, now has an estimated 10-day total of $143,663,000 domestic gross, while in foreign it grossed a total of $84 M...with a worldwide total of $227,663,000.

Have you seen this movie? I saw this movie last week in the movie theater and I thought it was great. I will post my review very soon. Unfortunately, Talulah Riley only appeared very briefly, like a few quick scenes...but she was in a great scene with her co-star, hotties Leo DiCaprio and Cillian Murphy (who also co-starred with Keira Knightley in The Edge of Love) and another with Ken Watanabe as well as passing by Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt! So, not too bad for Talulah to be a part of this film even for a few brief scenes, lol. Not too mention, she got to be in a movie with Leo and it's #1 for two weeks in a row now. Yay for Talulah! :)

Photos: Jena Malone at 2010 Comic-Con

Jena Malone attends and promotes one of her new films Sucker Punch at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) today. She was actually there for two days! Yesterday (Friday), she was part of EW's "Girls That Kick Ass: A New Generation Of Heroines" with actresses Elizabeth Mitchell, Anna Torv, Ellen Wong, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Today (this morning), she was with her Sucker Punch co-stars Carla Gugino, Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, and Jamie Chung for Warner Bros.' Sucker Punch presentation and "Sucker Punch" panel discussion.

I must say Jena looks great in these pics! It looks like she went back to her dark hair color, which I think she looks so much better than the blonde do she had been sporting on for a long time.

Check out below several new photos of Jena's Comic-Con appearance from Friday and today!

Casting News: Rosamund Pike to star in Johnny English 2

While Rosamund Pike is still circling and yet to be confirmed to play the role as Moira MacTaggert for the reboot of X-Men: First Class movie with James McAvoy, one thing that's just been reported and is at least for certain and not a rumor is Rosamund starring in a sequel to Rowan Atkinson (aka Mr. Bean)'s comedy spy James Bond spoof film, Johnny English Reborn. I think RP will be great on this one...and it's comedy, so she gets to be funny here like she did with An Education. Also, Rosamund's other and now completed film, Varney's Version will premiere at this year's Toronto International Film Festival in September.

Here's the article from Press Association (and UK's The Daily Mail here ... you can also read another possible casting news for Judi Dench there as well):
Rosamund Pike for Johnny English 2

Former Bond girl Rosamund Pike is to star as a sexy secret agent once again in Johnny English 2.

The 31-year-old blonde bombshell - who played an MI6 analyst in Die Another Day - will star opposite Rowan Atkinson in James Bond spoof Johnny English Reborn, The Daily Mail reveals.

The Mr Bean star plays bumbling British spy English, who found himself thrown in at the deep end in the 2003 original, where he was taught to hone his skills by Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia as his sexy sidekick.

St Trinian's director Oliver Parker will be taking the director's chair for the sequel from a script written by Hamish McColl, who also penned 2007's Mr Bean's Holiday, which starred Rowan.

The actor originally created the comedy character of Johnny English for a series of credit card adverts he appeared in.

The film is due to begin shooting in August and Rosamund will join the production in September following the world premiere of drama Barney's Version, which is being shown at the Toronto Film Festival.

Casting News: Carey Mulligan cast on Ian McEwan's 'On Chesil Beach'

Previously rumored, but now looks like Carey Mulligan will, indeed star in On Chesil Beach, according to The Film Stage article below:

The Daily Mail has confirmed Carey Mulligan’s involvement in Sam Mendes’ adaptation of Ian McEwan’s best selling book On Chesil Beach, reporting that she will undergo some pre-production training for her starring role as Florence Ponting:
Carey Mulligan will be taking violin lessons so she can be note perfect to play the heroine in the film of Ian McEwan’s story of sex in England before the sexual revolution.
The story will follow the honeymoon, specifically the wedding night of a young, educated couple, both virgins and living ‘in a time when a conversation about sexual difficulties was plainly impossible’. Florence’s marriage to Edward Mayhew (and frustrations in the consummation of their Chesil Beach honeymoon) is used as a study on the sexual and social geography of pre-revolution 1962 England.
Edward Mayhew has yet to be cast but auditions are underway:
Mendes, his partners at Neal Street Productions and Focus Features are studying screen tests featuring a handful of British actors who could play Edward, a graduate historian, who is more a ‘blokey-bloke’, as someone described him, rather than a pretty boy.
Having read On Chesil Beach, it is clear that the novella won’t be easy to adapt for screen with much of the narrative absorbed in a stream of consciousness recount of memories that could disturb the pacing of the film and disrupt the development of a plot. However with McEwan behind the script the film may benefit from any changes that the author himself makes to adapt his story for screen. With Mulligan suitably in the starring role, perhaps On Chesil Beach will be 2011′s Atonement.
Shooting will take place in the South of England and central London this September on the Neal Street Productions and Focus Features production, with BBC Films potentially joining.

Speaking of Carey Mulligan...a lil' off-topic here...according to Fashionista, Carey Mulligan Will Be on American Vogue’s October Cover!

Inception #1 movie at this weekend's box-office with $60+ Million

Great news at this weekend's box-office result for Talulah Riley's new film Inception, where she has a small role as Blonde. It not only debuts strong at #1, it also, easily breaks through with $60.4 million (estimated...final result will be released Monday afternoon!) gross for a non-sequel/non-remake/original released film this summer!!! Yay, congrats to Talulah Riley and her Inception co-stars and crew!!! I haven't seen this yet, but I'm going to sometime early this week. This film has been in my must-see list of films this year. Not too mention, I love Leonardo DiCaprio and it's awesome that Talulah is on this film too whether her role is small or cameo and the rest of the ensemble cast including Marion Cotillard and Cillian Murphy are pretty good actors too. Now, she has a box-office hit after P&P movie. Speaking of Talulah and Leo DiCaprio, check out this related article of Talulah Riley: I have crush on Leo.

Anyway, back to Inception's first opening weekend triumph, here's an article from Box Office Mojo:
Easily the most anticipated non-sequel release of the summer, Inception breaks in to approximately 6,700 screens at 3,792 theaters this weekend (including a record IMAX release of 197 venues). The Sorcerer's Apprentice casts its spell at 3,504 locations, though its unimpressive grosses on Wednesday and Thursday don't bode well for its weekend prospects, while musical Standing Ovation counter-programs with a barely-nationwide 623-theater launch.

Inception grossed $3 million in its midnight start, which is slightly below Star Trek ($4 million) and Avatar ($3.5 million). Inception is tracking ahead of both of those movies in Box Office Mojo's reader polling, though, as 68.9 percent voted to see Inception on its opening weekend. In fact, this is the best percentage for any non-sequel since the start of Box Office Mojo's polling nearly six years ago, trailing only the likes of The Dark Knight (76.9 percent) and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (72 percent). Now, Inception hits a bullseye with readers' interests, but it is clear that the movie is poised for a big opening.
