A  P&P fan encounter  from an ardent   Pride & Prejudice / Matthew Macfadyen  fan, the lovely and wonderful  May   (from Scotland)   had a great pleasure in meeting  Matthew   Macfadyen  up close and in person   not once, but three times! She met him in his current stage play   Jeeves and Wooster , which had gotten rave reviews and is on demand (that it will be extended for more shows until September 2014 , but Matthew will only continue until April 2014 ). The final Episode 3  has just been uploaded to YT much earlier than I expected this early morning (I must admit I have been waiting to see it after seeing Episode 2 yesterday, lol...) of  Death Comes to Pemberley  starring  Matthew Rhys   (as  Mr. Darcy ),   Anna Maxwell Martin   (as   Elizabeth Darcy ...née  Bennet ), and  Matthew Goode  (as  Mr. Wickham ). 20th Century Fox just released the first official still (via The Playlist ) of  David Fincher 's upcoming film  Gone Girl   starring Ben Affleck &   Rosamund Pike . The first still doesn't really have Rosamund 's character Amy Dunne , in the flesh, but she's featured in a picture in the "missing" poster (as you can see above ^) behind Ben Affleck's Nick Dunne (also with another tiny pin photo of hers, pinned to his suit), whose wife Amy was missing. Gone Girl Nick  ( Ben Affleck ) and  Amy Dunne  ( Rosamund Pike ) have a difficult marriage. I was searching on YouTube for Episode 3 preview clip for  Death Comes to Pemberley  starring  Matthew Rhys   (as  Mr. Darcy ),   Anna Maxwell Martin   (as   Elizabeth Darcy ...née  Bennet ), and  Matthew Goode  (as  Mr. Wickham ), which I've found and you can  watch it here . What's unexpected was that someone was awesome enough to upload Episode 1  (with no commercials!) of DCTP , as I've been wanting to see it (since I don't live in the UK, I live in the US and don't see this mini-series until PBS Masterpiece will show it sometime on 2014), but looks like I don't have to wait too long to see it. I thought I'd embed Episode 1 here to share with those of you (like me) who don't live in  the UK, so we'll get to see it sooner rather than later, but make sure to see it as soon as you read this post, while it's still available and  viewable in YouTube (before it gets blocked! lol...). The first Episode of  Death Comes to Pemberley  starring  Matthew Rhys   (as  Mr. Darcy ),   Anna Maxwell Martin   (as   Elizabeth Darcy ...née  Bennet ), and  Matthew Goode  (as  Mr. Wickham ) premiered on   BBC One earlier today, which was 8:15 PM (UK time and 3 PM US eastern time). If you live in the UK and you missed Episode 1 , you can watch and stream it on BBC's iplayer here .The 3-part murder-mystery drama airs in 3 consecutive nights from  December 26-28 ,  2013 (and also set for  a PBS Masterpiece premiere in  2014 . No broadcast dates has been announced yet...). Unfortunately, I  live in the US and can't view the BBC's iplayer, at least the episode. I can view the clips, but not the episodes. So, I'll have to wait (probably for a while in 2014) to see it on PBS Masterpiece. I wish BBC America would've shown this here in the US at the same time. There are only 3 episodes... Paramount Pictures has just released the first TV spot  (which I've actually seen a few times tonight on TV during commercials...) for Kenneth Branagh 's  Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit   starring  Chris Pine  ( Jack Ryan ),   Keira Knightley   ( Cathy ) ,  Kevin Costner ,  Kenneth Branagh , Peter Andersson, David Paymer, and Colman Feore , which will be released in theaters and IMAX on January 17 in the US and January 24 in the UK. David Koepp wrote the script. Based on the Jack Ryan character created by bestselling author Tom Clancy, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is a contemporary action thriller set in the present day. A Christmas special for  Downton Abbey  ( Penelope Wilton  co-star as  Isobel Crawley ), which is also the last episode for Season 4, will air on Christmas Day at 8:30 PM on ITV channel in the UK. Meanwhile, U.S. Fans is getting ready to see the Season 4 premiere in the New Year,  January 5th  for  PBS Masterpiece  to finally show it in North America. The new season starts six months on from the death of  Downton  heir  Matthew Crawley  ( Dan Stevens ), son of  Isobel Crawley . According to Variety , Wolverine actor  Hugh Jackman is talks to play the villain role Blackbeard in  Joe Wright 's   upcoming “ Peter Pan ” origin tale tentatively titled  Pan , for Warner Bros., which made The Black List . Happy 238th Birthday to the lovely, genius and way ahead of her time, beloved English novelist, the one and only, JANE AUSTEN ! Worth re-posting (and slightly edited and updated) for your FYI... Remembering and celebrating her birthday today, Jane Austen , the woman who wrote the original Pride and Prejudice novel (which had been made into several TV and Film adaptations including the 2005 film, Pride & Prejudice ), which was her first (can you believe unsuccessful ?!) submission to a publisher back in 1797 ( 215 years ago) titled "First Impressions" (later changed to "Pride and Prejudice" ). She revised " First Impressions " and published it entitled " Pride and Prejudice " in 1813 ( 200 years ago 11 months ago this year!).  Jane Austen was born on this day back on December 16th, 1775 (she would've been 238 years old!!! today...) to the local rector, Rev. George Austen (1731-1805), and Cassandra Leigh (1739-1827).

The nominations for the  Golden Globe Awards has been announced this morning. There were lots of snubs ( Homeland was one of them) and surprises, but great news for   Judi Dench   and her Philomena film, they received 3 GG nominations including Best Actress for Judi Dench . Downton Abbey only  got one nomination .  Inside Llewyn Davis and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire ( Coldplay 's song " Atlas " from the film's soundtrack) were also nominated. The nominations for the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards was announced this morning. The 2014 Sundance Film Festival has announced the films that will be premiering next month. One of them is Kelly Reilly 's upcoming film Calvary written and directed by John Michael McDonagh . Bad news today for fans of Ripper Street starring Matthew Macfadyen (as Inspector Edmund Reid ). BBC axed the Victorian-era drama and will not return for a third season after not pulling sufficient ratings numbers for BBC One in the UK. No wonder BBC America, who was supposed to air it this past Sunday, December 1st , has quietly delayed (and probably may not even air) Season 2 here in the U.S. until an unspecified date in 2014 .
