Weekend Box-Office: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire remains on top and breaks Thanksgiving record!

Blazing (with The 74th Hunger Games victors Katniss Everdeen, the girl on fire! and fellow victor Peeta Mellark teaming up with the handsome Finnick Odair and the sly and cunning Johanna Mason in the 75th Hunger Games aka the Quarter Quell) at the box office on its second weekend, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire starring Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta Mellark), Liam Hemsworth (Gale Hawthorne), Sam Claflin (Finnick Odair), Donald Sutherland (President Snow) and Jena Malone (Johanna Mason) shut out the holiday competition and made $74.1 million this weekend, part of an even more impressive $110.1 million for the five-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend (shattering the $82.4 million record set by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone) and a domestic total of $296.2 million. This film did a lot better business too than forecast and surpassed long-standing records for the holiday frame. In foreign box-office (according to Box Office Mojo), it now grosses $276.5 million with a worldwide total of $572.7 million (passing the $500 million mark) in just 10 days!

Also, Stephen FrearsPhilomena, starring Judi Dench, made the top 10 this week (from #27 last week in 4 theater count) in only 835 theater count with an impressive #8 ($3.6 million weekend and $4.6 holiday total) on its second weekend and expanded Thanksgiving release.
