Rosamund Pike to receive Breakthrough Performance Award, Actress for 'Gone Girl' at the 2015 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards!
The lovely Miss Rosamund Pike is getting recognition for her impressive acting work in Gone Girl. She will be receiving the 2015 Palm Springs Film Festival's Breakthrough Performance Award, Actress at the Festival Awards Gala on January 3rd, 2015. Hopefully, this will be the start of many awards and recognition she'll be getting as she so deserves for her amazing work for this movie, once the awards season start in full swing next month.
Actress Rosamund Pike will receive the Breakthrough Performance Award, Actress at the 26th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala on Jan. 3 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.The Gala will also present awards to previously announced honorees Julianne Moore, Eddie Redmayne and J.K. Simmons. The film festival runs Jan. 2-12.Past recipients of the Breakthrough Performance Award include Marion Cotillard, Lupita Nyong’o, Carey Mulligan, Felicity Huffman, Jennifer Hudson and Jeremy Renner. In the years they were honored, Cotillard, Hudson and Nyong’o went on to receive Academy Awards, while Huffman and Renner received nominations.Pike is being singled out for her performance in Gone Girl, a bestseller that became director David Fincher’s screen version of a wild ride through our modern media culture and down into the deep, dark fault lines of an American marriage. The screenplay is by Gillian Flynn based upon her novel. The Twentieth Century Fox film stars Ben Affleck with Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry.
