Carey Mulligan News: 4 upcoming films plus a US Broadway debut in September

Carey Mulligan best known for her role of Kitty Bennett in the 2005 film version of the Jane Austen novel Pride & Prejudice (with co-stars Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen, and Rosamund Pike to name a few) has 4 upcoming films, 2 being released later this year (2008) and 2 in the following year (2009) and a broadway debut starting September reprising her role of Nina (with Kristin Scott Thomas and Peter Saarsgard, her An Education co-star) in the critically acclaimed Royal Court Theatre production of Anton Chekhov’s THE SEAGULL.

According to Wikipedia's page for Carey Mulligan , following P&P movie, she appeared in the BAFTA award winning BBC adaption of Charles Dickens Bleak House as one of the orphans Ada Clare.

Next she appeared in an acclaimed 2007 revival of The Seagull and the well-received film adapation of Blake Morrison's memoirs And When Did You Last See Your Father?. She rounded out 2007 by appearing with Daniel Radcliffe and Kim Catrall in My Boy Jack.


Mulligan appears in forthcoming films Brothers, An Education, and Public Enemies. In 2008 she will work on the film The Greatest as well as making her Broadway debut in the US transfer of The Seagull.

THE SEAGULL, featuring a new version by Christopher Hampton and directed by Ian Rickson, opens Wednesday, October 1 at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street). Brothers (2008) - Carey (as Cassie Willis) co-stars with Jake Gyleenhaal, Natalie Portman, Tobey Maguire, Mare Winningham, and Sam Shephard. In theaters: December 4th, 2008.


Brief Synopsis: A young man comforts his older brother's wife and children after he goes missing in Afghanistan. Based on Susanne Bier's film, "Brothers."

Brief Synopsis: A coming-of-age story about a teenage girl (Carey Mulligan) in 1960s suburban London, and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age.

Public Enemies (2009)- in this film, Carey (as Carole) co-stars with lots of famous actors such as Christian Bale, Johnny Depp, Channing Tatum, Billy Crudup, Stephen Dorf, Marion Cotillard, Giovanni Ribisi, and Leelee Sobieski. Release dates: July 1, 2009 (USA), and July 3rd, 2009 (UK).
